Generally good company, with bad management for software developers, and closing down positions for devs in Vienna.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

For development the higher management is in Poland and not really represented in Austria. As such management has little credibility and does not seem to really care about the interest of the Vienna office. This applies only to development. two examples: during the drive to cut personnel in Austria and to consolidate to Poland, DEV line management would not even take ownership of their decision and not talk to employees being fired, leaving everything to the local Austrian site manager. Also during mass firing of employees on Vienna the Krakow direct manager would post pictures from Facebook working from a floating unicorn in his private pool and enjoying a drink while at it. They just don't care.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The Austrian site is very small, possibilities to advance are thus limited if moving to other sites cannot be considered.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We emphasize valuable feedback and are always striving for continuous improvement.

We’d like to touch upon the feedback you shared on the leadership behavior. This year confronted us with heavy unforeseeable challenges. We regret the fact that you perceived communication with the Development management team as difficult and felt not taken seriously. In the past year the management of Development teams has been centralized in Krakow to create synergies, best practices and enforce our global Tech strategy. This has led to changes in the reporting line, organizational changes and a remote leadership for Vienna software developers. Still, the Development senior management in close collaboration with the local site leader have driven strategic decisions and communications to share details around the restructuring measures in a respectful and transparent way.

At Sabre we strive for open feedback culture at all levels not only during our weekly 1 on 1’s and performance review talks every 6 month but also through our dedicated leadership quality index and regular surveys. If our employees facing any issues and don’t want to talk to their management about it, they may reach out to our works council or your local HR partner.
