Arbeitsatmosphäre

Overall, the atmosphere is nice. People are professional here and trying to give their best, team leads and management also trying to be as flexible as can and not pick on little things. Maybe the Vienna office could have more social life but the HR team is working on it.

Kommunikation

It got better. When I joined communication from the management team was confusing or non-existing. Nowadays it is more structured and transparent. There is an open sprint review for the full company so even non-technical people are always up-to-date with the products, a Townhall held by the owner and a monthly all-hands-on-deck meeting.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

I like the “CELUM”ians. I can not even pick a person who I wouldn´t like. They are nice but also really keep the other´s private life in respect. So not the most “super cool best friends colleague” relations but more like “nice colleagues who sometimes have fun together”. If you are looking for a close friend group it is not your company, if you are for a professional area with nice people it is.

Work-Life-Balance

I am working with the hybrid model so 2-3 home offices/per week and Wednesday is always a present-day in the office. People are respecting if you are closing your laptop at 17.00 and never had an issue about “being late” or having an appointment in the middle of the day. If you do your job and keep the deadlines, nobody cares how you manage your time.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

It was sometimes a bit impulsive and making too quick decisions but since the new Chief Finance Officer joined last year it is more balanced out.

Interessante Aufgaben

You get what you are applied for, the interview process is clear regarding the tasks. Also, the company is open to new solutions and challenging processes.

Gleichberechtigung

For tech companies, there are surprisingly many women in the developing team. Also, it is usual that after maternity leave people are coming back only part-time but keeping their leadership positions. Also, there are a lot of nations, I think in the Vienna office there are more ex-pats than Austrians, there was even a diversity dinner where people did bring food regarding their heritage.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

The average age is around 30-35, and there are senior and genZ employees as well.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The Linz campus is pretty cool but a bit outside of the city, in Vienna it is in a good spot but not designed (to be fair we just moved here over the summer). Everybody has electric standing desks, there are pool cars and pool scooters, tea, a normal coffee machine and things like that.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

In Linz, they have solar panels and a bee-hive (honey made by the company bees is a recruiting incentive) for sure in Vienna fewer opportunities for that but most of the company cars are electric. There are also charity movements like pink ribbon, Movember and Ukrainian refugees living in the company´s flat in Linz. HR tried to do something for pride as well, but it was rather a pizza party than bringing real awareness, at least they are trying.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Not the best-paying company on the market, more like “fair”. The benefits system is good, however, including fitness opportunities, sponsorship for public transport (even for klimaticket), relocation package and so on.

The company had a bad reputation a few years ago, but they really learned about it. The HR team exist only for 2 years but the changes are really visible since then.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Since it is a mid-sized company the career steps are not as clear but there is a yearly performance review. They are supporting learning and development.
