Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Innovation & Automation - Senior Quality Engineer who can bring together human-guided, automation testing, and AI-driven quality practices into one strong quality engineering role. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys owning quality end to end - from exploratory and functional validation to scalable automation and the smart use of AI to improve efficiency, coverage, and insight.

In this role, you will work closely with developers, product teams, and other quality engineers to build modern testing solutions while keeping a strong hands-on approach to testing.

As an AI Innovation & Automation - Senior Quality Engineer, you will help shape the quality strategy for modern digital products by combining:

  • Strong manual testing expertise
  • Automation engineering
  • AI-supported quality practices and innovation

You will contribute to building efficient test processes, improving test coverage, accelerating delivery, and introducing practical AI-based approaches that support quality without compromising engineering standards.

What will be your main responsibilities:

  • Help our client build end-to-end Quality Engineering process and leverage AI agents in this process.
  • Perform human guided management of Quality Engineering AI Agents to create test scenarios, test strategies and automated tests.
  • Design and execute manual and automated test strategies across web, API, and integrated systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks.
  • Convert manual scenarios into reliable automated tests.
  • Integrate automated checks into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects while ensuring good traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Analyze risks, highlight quality gaps, and proactively propose improvements.
  • Share knowledge, mentoring, and best practices with teammates and help raise the overall quality engineering maturity of the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of frameworks, processes, and quality standards.

What do you need to have:

  • Proven experience in both manual testing and test automation.
  • Curiosity about new technology and practical AI adoption.
  • Ability to balance detail-oriented manual validation with automation scalability.
  • Confidence to challenge gaps, suggest improvements, and lead by example.
  • Strong understanding of test design, exploratory testing, regression testing, system testing, and end-to-end validation.
  • Hands-on experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
  • Experience testing UI and APIs.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and how automated tests fit into modern delivery pipelines.
  • Ability to create clear test documentation, defect reports, and quality summaries.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A proactive mindset, strong ownership, and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in distributed global teams.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools.
  • Experience using AI for test-case generation, quality insights, defect analysis, or productivity improvement.
  • Experience with tools such as Xray, Jira, Confluence, BrowserStack, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with mobile testing, Appium, or cross-browser/device testing.
  • Experience mentoring other QA / QE colleagues.
