As a Director of Finance Control, you will serve as a trusted business partner to senior Line Management, driving financial excellence and shaping the growth trajectory of our U.S. Contract Logistics operations.
The role acts as a proactive advisor to management, contributing financial insights and strategic recommendations that support profitable growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. Partner cross-functionally with business and functional units to support productivity improvements, process optimization, and strategic initiatives. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.
How you create impact
The right candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, driving profitability, growth, productivity, and process improvements.
- Lead the US Controlling team and maintain strong alignment with Corporate Controlling.
- Oversee timely and accurate month-end close, annual target-setting, and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Manage investment reviews, business case development, cost-saving initiatives, and new business evaluations.
- Represent Finance in pricing and RFP processes, ensuring accurate costing, sound assumptions, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through contract reviews, pricing oversight, and senior-level discussions.
- Monitor business performance, analyze P&Ls, perform gap analyses, and drive cost control and procurement support.
- Champion standardization, continuous improvement, tool development, and employee development within Contract Logistics Controlling.
- Ensure governance and full compliance with financial controlling policies through direct oversight of local analysts and support staff.
What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent; Master’s preferred
- 7 - 10 years of experience, including 5+ in Finance/Controlling (FP&A preferred)
- 5+ years leading and managing teams
- Experience presenting to senior leadership at national and corporate levels
- Strong Contract Logistics operational and business knowledge
- Proven leadership with strong personal drive and innovative thinking
- Solid Controlling and Finance background
- Organized, detail-focused, hands-on, and collaborative
- Strategic thinker who turns complex analysis into clear insights
- Skilled at detailed work and concise executive-level summaries
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables)
- Strong analytical mindset and commercial acumen
- Self-starter with initiative and consistent follow-through
- Track record of leading, coaching, and developing teams
