Senior Safety, Health and Environmental Professional I

Join Roche as a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Business Partner to serve as a strategic expert across manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain functions. You will develop and implement comprehensive SHE policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety and sustainability while leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain SHE policies and programs, including hazardous waste, industrial wastewater, and refrigerant management.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, identify improvement opportunities, and lead teams to address deficiencies.
• Conduct proactive inspections, hazard evaluations, and formal campus-wide audits.
• Provide technical expertise to management and staff regarding laws, regulations, and Roche standards.
• Analyze program trends and collaborate with vendors to implement tracking and reporting systems.
• Participate in emergency planning and support cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physical science, life science, environmental science, engineering, or industrial hygiene.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or chemical industries.
• Proven ability to influence change across business functions without direct authority.
• Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building cooperative relationships and developing training materials.
• Preferred: National certification such as CSP, CIH, PE, or CHMM.
