As a Mid Backend Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for developing software in alignment with Kuehne+Nagel’s strategic objectives. You will take part in the full software development lifecycle, including initial design, backend development, writing clean and maintainable code, and ensuring appropriate testing and successful implementation. Leveraging your experience in backend development, you will contribute to building reliable and scalable systems within a global organization, collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
How you create impact
- Design and propose innovative solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Adopt the “you build it, you own it” rule by delivering and monitoring applications in production.
- Maintain clean code practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our setup and processes following our agile principles.
- Ensure quality assurance through automated tests and code reviews.
- Provide 3rd line support for the application during office hours.
- Support maintaining the product-related documentation.
- Demonstrate good collaboration skills and daily support for your team members.
What we would like you to bring
- 4+ years of experience with agile software development, preferably matching our currently used technologies: Java, Kotlin, Kafka, and Postgres database.
- Knowledge of software craftsmanship targeting CI/CD and clean code.
- Experience with AWS and Terraform is a plus.
- You are familiar with software development practices in an Agile environment where concepts like “teamwork and open communication” and “pair programming and knowledge sharing” are natural to you.
- Developing yourself and the team is always on your mind.
- Agile and problem-solving mindset.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
