Development Engineer (contract 80-100%)

The Position

As a Development Engineer in the System Development department, you will work in a global, cross-functional environment to automate and tool complex diagnostic systems. Your role focuses on workflow optimization and integrating hardware, software, and reagents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robotics concepts to automate laboratory operations and workflows.
• Program, test, and maintain automated laboratory solutions.
• Support integration teams with the installation and troubleshooting of robotics systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute work packages, including reporting and issue escalation.
• Collaborate effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (with a focus on robotics/vision), Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in professional software development using languages such as Python, C#/.NET, LabView, or UR-Polyscope.
• Strong interest in the medical diagnostics industry.
• Excellent command of English; German language skills are considered an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to foster professional relationships.
• Strong conceptual and creative thinking skills for addressing complex issues.
