Menschen werden ernst genommen, Arbeit ist spannend und Produkte sind top. Ich bin motiviert, weil alles passt und Kolleg:Innen nett sind.

Wirklich ausgezeichnet. Für die Entwickler:Innen ist es ruhig im Büro,

Hier wird man als Mensch, mit seinen Bedürfnissen ernst genommen. 30h Woche zB ist kein Problem. Es gibt Verträge für "fast immer" Büroarbeit, flexibel (zB häufig oder meistens Home Office) oder komplett remote - man kann es sich aussuchen!

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Bezahlte Weiterbildungen und es werden einem hin und wieder Weiterbildungen angeboten, die man in Anspruch nehmen kann. Die Qualität war immer sehr gut. Department wechseln, Rolle ändern ist auch möglich.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Es wird viel zum Thema Corporate Social Responsibility unternommen. Man kann sich einbringen oder es ignorieren, wenn es einen nicht interessiert.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Auf Augenhöhe, einfühlsam, hilfsbereit. Auch die beiden Gründer bodenständig und sympathisch.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Top Büro in guter Lage, gute Bildschirme, moderne Laptops (Mac, Windows, Linux, was man will), Budget für gutes Zubehör, elektrisch höhenverstellbare Tische, Pflanzen. Schöne Meetingräume. Man sitzt mit mehreren Kolleg:Innen im jeweiligen Raum, aber es ist meistens sehr ruhig, man kann sich konzentrieren.

Kommunikation

Ausgezeichnet. Man kann einfach nach Firmenevents bei einem Bier/Wein/Saft zusammensitzen. Es gibt es auch Coaching-Angebote und zB freiwillige Workshops zu Non Violent Communication.

The start-up vibe of the early days is still present. Personally, I choose this over some stuff bureaucratic structures any day of the year.

9 out of 10 companies claim to offer great flexibility and in Meister's case it is truly followed up.

Honestly the greatest thing of all. Never seen such a motivated, passionate and easy-going team. Everyone is super fired up about bringing the company to the next level, making work simply fun.

In general good atmosphere and personally super nice people. Work fields are also interesting and being open towards homeoffice is a good idea

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Sometimes we should question us and our opinions a bit more, but that's just a minor thing

Verbesserungsvorschläge

As said, salaries need to be adjusted a bit in order to keep up with the market. Managers, heads and leads need to trust experts more sometimes, since they're deeper in certain topics. But I think Meister is going into a very good direction and it could potentially be the actual best company around soon.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Atmosphere is good in general. Employees are super nice and also most heads and leads. The founders and C-Levels are personally super nice, to be fair. Future plans are ambitious, as in many companies, and some people feel, they cannot keep up with the required performance. To be fair, managers try to help individuals as good as they can.

Meister has a clear and good image about themselves, which is fair. They do a lot of things right, but I sometimes miss the realistic view on things. Look, products, processes, communication, etc. are really great, but there are also problems and issues, just like in every other company. Sometimes we have to question things more and take things more serious in order to react better and faster.
BUT we're improving things constantly and I guess that is super important as well.

Work-Life-Balance

Actually quite good. Meister doesn't want you to work more than your 38,5 hours/week. But often people work more on a regular basis, just to catch up with all the tasks. This is not seen or regarded yet - there's no realistic solution in contracts or in the salary, which is not cool.
To be fair Meister puts a strong emphasis on not disturbing your free time, as well as weekends, holidays etc.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Is there. They support trainings and pay for them. Climbing up the carrer ladder is possible and supported, but only if the founders have a good view on you. If they have an opinion on you, it's hard to change. As said I'd expect more neutrality here

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

That's very individual and I only know about myself and a few others. As a matter of fact, my salary has always been below my market value or some market average, as I turned down offers from other companies with a much higher salary. I obviously didn't take those offers for other reasons, but in terms of payment, the competition is very strong. Of course Meister wants to be a company which is able to beat the competition on all levels. On many levels they can actually do that, but for me not yet on the salary field.

I think they know about that point and I'm sure they take it serious. Only question is whether they dare to make necessary adjustments to catch up with the market.

To be fair, Meister pays for your public transport card and you have great team events and they pay for trainings (!) etc. I mean quite some companies have that, but maybe not to THAT extend.

I'd say we're very open-minded in that sense, partly we pay for planting trees, but we could probably do more

Absolutely great. People are awesome.

No problem so far, but the absolute majority of employees is quite young. Mostly between 25 and 35. Everyone is included in everything, but of course the company is "young" and you can see that with internal events, team events, etc.

Pros:
- Founders and C-Levels are personally super nice and smart
- I think they really care about employees, but of course everyone has personal opinions and taste, that sometimes not everyone share
- They actually work hands-on on several tasks with you (depending on the department)
- They hear feedback and also let people know that they heard feedback. They're also quite fast in actually changing things.

To consider:
- Sometimes I'd wish for being a bit more open towards unpopular topics (salaries, delegation from management etc.)
- Naturally they sometimes have strong opinions on things. Don't get me wrong, they're super smart, but sometimes I'd wish for a little more dialog with specific experts and trust (!) I guess a few issues could have been avoided this way.
- I guess the bigger the company gets, the less C-levels can actually know about every single employee. I personally feel, that sometimes they have opinions on someone, even though they cannot know much about their every-day successes, engagement, etc. So I'd suggest to trust managers even more, who are much closer to single employees.

Apart from that, you'll never find better bosses!

Perfect I'd say. You can choose your own laptop, keyboard, headphones etc. - of course within a certain frame. Desks, chairs and lighting is very good.

Kommunikation

In general communication is very good and everyone puts a strong focus on that. We use several easy-to-use tools, we have quite some regular meetings, internal workshops etc. in order to align better.

Gleichberechtigung

Would say yes. I don't see that women are treated differently in any sense. We have women in our teams, as leads and as heads. Parental leave is no problem

For me definitely! Also I was always free to choose what I wanted to work on and where I saw the biggest potential

Lack of micro management. Freedom and responsibility in a lot of areas. Yearly retreats

Communication of company plans.

Make stock options available to employees. Create a clear policy on remote work. More flexible core hours as policy (sometimes practised, but not on paper which is confusing). Better rewards for overtime.

There are opportunities to attend conferences and work on new tech in "innovation week" (start of every quarter)

No stock options which is disappointing considering the company is happy to take on investment from external sources. Wages could also be better

The working atmosphere of Meister is really nice. The Vienna offices are gorgeous and comfortable with coffee, snacks, and other incentives. I also very much like that we are flexible with working from home.

I think most employees are happy with their jobs and happy with Meister overall.

Work-Life-Balance

The work/life balance at Meister is a huge benefit for me. It’s one of my favorite things about the company. Everyone from the Founders to the Junior Employees are encouraged to take leave, stay at 38.5 hours a week, and take time when needed to take care of oneself. This makes for a really positive experience where the “hustle and grind” of tech isn’t so present.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

While we have “development” time, I haven’t personally taken any career advancement time at Meister. Educational classes or professional development is available, in theory, but it doesn’t seem to be a major objective.

While I think the salaries are a bit lower than market value, I think Meister makes up for it to some degree with their level of work flexibility.

I think many of the employees are environmentally and socially conscious, but I haven’t seen any concerted effort specifically from the top-down. I think that Meister leadership could do a better job of enabling and encouraging more social awareness, supporting diverse causes, creating a space for us as a company to be more environmentally conscious and support this financially or with employee volunteer days or something like this.

The HR team at Meister does a nice job of vetting potential candidates for culture fit and cohesion among other staff. Because of this, we have a great blend of people who bring value to the team and also are team players. The existing staff is mostly open and transparent with work and collaborating together.

I would say this is an area of growth for Meister. As a SaaS company, we tend to hire more juniors for positions and this excludes older colleagues in senior roles. I would like to see Meister actively recruit older colleagues.

The leadership team and managers at Meister are constantly improving. With a relatively flat hierarchy, we are still working and collaborating with each other often at all levels of the company and “Managers” don’t just manage, they do.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The working environment is really nice at Meister. We have gorgeous offices, standing desks, and it’s always clean and tidy. We have easy access to a garden to eat lunch, work outside, or take a break which really adds value to the day!

Kommunikation

The communication at Meister is often good. We have weekly written updates from each department, monthly all-hands meetings where employees are encouraged to ask questions, give feedback and engage with other employees, and annual 360 performance reviews. We are constantly communicating and striving to improve.

Gleichberechtigung

The balance of male/female colleagues seems like a good blend at Meister. While we don’t have parity, I think we do a good job of trying to recruit and hire talented people from all backgrounds.

Interessante Aufgaben

The projects and tasks at Meister are interesting and challenging. Being in a growing Tech company, we always have work to do and great new projects to work on.

Urlaub ist jederzeit möglich und Freizeit sollte auch nicht zu kurz kommen. Regelmäßige Team-Events in lockerer Atmosphäre finden zusätzlich statt. Das Unternehmen kümmert sich wirklich toll um jeden einzelnen Mitarbeiter.

Alle bei Meister sind freundlich, nett und leben eine offene Arbeitskultur, die durch Diversität und Akzeptanz komplettiert wird.

Work-Life-Balance

Es wird eine 38.5 bzw. 40-Stunden-Woche im ganzen Betrieb großgeschrieben, zu manchen Zeiten kommt es aber doch zu starken Überstunden. Diese werden in der Regel aber so gut es geht nach einigen Wochen wieder langsam abgebaut.

The promotion of work-life balance. The fact that you get a day off for your birthday. Cultivates a great work environment. They also pay for your Wiener Linien card.

Great working atmosphere ! There is a lot of opportunity to take initiative and make your job your own. Innovation is seen as a very positive thing, if you have good ideas - you'll most likely be given the support you need to help you realize them.

This is where Meister really shines - work-life-balance isnt just a buzzword here - but something highly recommended. You are always given the flexibility you need for childcare, doctors appointments, work from home and more.

Great people! Really nice work environment - everyone wants the same thing - to do really well so it's easy to work with almost everyone on the team!

A friendly, fun, international, family-like atmosphere, a culture of helping others in achieving their goals.

Work-Life-Balance

This is my favorite part about working for Meister. The company has internalized the fact that all employees are individuals with lives outside of work. This profound respect for people is part of company culture. Working from home a couple of times a week, doctors appointments, no overtime... all is accepted.

There's generally a "we're all striving for the same thing" approach, and a core understanding that many things can be achieved through working together. That being said, during stressful times, there have cases where people disagree but luckily all potential problems are usually addressed early enough before turning into anything serious.

Kommunikation

There isn't a single company that would earn five stars in communication, it is an area that can always be worked on and improved. But as far as communication goes, I think this is better than many companies that I've worked for in the past, transparency is encouraged, knowledge-sharing is a must.

Egal in welcher Position man bei Meister arbeitet, Ideen und Vorschläge, die man einbringt, werden immer ernst genommen. Man bekommt Startups-Feeling, mit einer guten Portion Stabilität und Sicherheit.

Kommunikationswege sind nicht immer klar strukturiert, auf Grund des schnellen Mitarbeiterzuwachs.
