Open and honest communication across the whole organization
Safe space for learning
Great talented people working there
Cool equipment & benefits
Salary below average
Keep up the good work! Take care of your people, especially the project managers, who take up a high range of responsibilities that other companies would have 2-3 roles for. Also take care of juniors, they don't always know when to escalate burnout risks because they lack a reference point for acceptable amount of work and want to be proactive.
This is where Moonshiner shines (pun intended). Whether arriving in the office or hopping on a call with others, people treat themselves with positivity and respect, always assuming the best of intentions. Which makes for a pretty safe work environment.
Save for a few exceptions, most people I talk to, paint the company in a good light
Health comes first and vacation times are respected. Development teams are encouraged to openly partake in plannings to avoid the need to do over-hours. There are two mandatory office days but these are more to keep up the culture.
If you want to start a career in or transition to this field, this is a fantastic place to do so. Participation in trainings, certifications, and conferences is also encouraged by the team leads.
Below average pay for most roles.
Honesty is celebrated and mistakes are seen as learning opportunity.
Unfortunately this varies a lot across departments, I had a good experience but I know colleagues that had trouble escalating important issues or that were met with inertia when they did.
Nice office with a fantastic view. Coffee and fruits. Fridge full with drinks. Latest generation Macbooks for all and the possibility to keep it as a personal device after some years. Also sports plans.
There are some good initiatives to preserve the feeling of proximity with the rest of the company even as it grows. The leadership makes an active effort to stay reachable even though it is clear that it is getting more challenging as projects get larger.
The products are very diverse so there can be some variation here. As a an agency and service provider, the influence over the products is minimal, the customers usually have a pretty concrete idea about the scope when they come into picture. This is definitely a challenge for people passionate about making a good product and not only checklist-ing requirements.
Friendly teams leads, decent assignments, great hardware + home office setup.
Low salary and few opportunities for advancement.
More precise job descriptions, i.e. scope of work. Better pay.
There are rules which hardly anyone follows, so I would say the atmosphere is pretty relaxed in most cases. Sometimes there’s a bit of pressure from clients, but it’s more of an exception and not the rule.
Decent image. They organize a lot of tech meetups. I would say the company image overlaps with reality in most cases.
Very understanding, especially if you have kids. 3 days home office, 2 days office. Realtively loose working hours. There are official working, but it’s ok if you deviate from them a bit.
You might get to go one position up for a bit more money a lot more obligations. Otherwise you stay where you start.
It’s ok if you are a junior or maybe even a medior, but don’t expect a serious salary here. There are other benefits though like restaurant discounts, corporate benefits, company bicycle, etc.
In general it’s good, but some teams are easier to work with.
The whole team is very young, but even the ones who are a bit older than the average are treated the same.
Team leads are really great - both on professional and personal levels. They, however, are very much overworked, so finding time can be rather challenging.
You are provided with great hardware and the office is rather nice.
There are monthly updates, but not everything is always communicated transparently.
I would say it’s pretty equal, but there’s always room for improvement.
Depends on the project. It’s decent, but nothing too exciting.
Great colleagues, interesting tasks, friendly, understanding and inclusive environment.
Pay higher salaries. Set longer deadlines for projects so that employees have time to do learning courses too.
Time for learning courses is often allocated, but cannot be used for that because it is necessary to work on projects first.
Very flexible work times
The salary was very low compared to other companies. Don't expect to have a high salary, even as an experienced developer.
But they did provide a myClubs membership.
Monthly updates by the boss
The project managers sometimes lacked communication and it was hard to finish tickets without detailed information.
- overworked employees while others do half the job
- no leadership
- meeting culture - there has to be a meeting for everything with way too many people involved
- salary
- think about why customers are not satisfied with the products you deliver and try to improve
- check your supervisors only because people are in the company for a longer time does not mean they can do the job
- listen to your employees
- improve the quality of the products you deliver; focus on one topic and then become the best in that field; a company with 50 people cannot do 500 different things at once
- have a vision and a clear strategy behind it (get external help if you do not know how to make a good strategy)
Most of the work falls on individual people who are completely overworked; People with only a 3 month programming course have too much responsibilities.
There is a constant need to train new project managers because they resign one after another due to the excessive workload and pressure. The management is disastrous - problems are not addressed but are instead dismissed and covered up.
Otherwise meeting culture - too much talking and no action. Everything has to be discussed at least 5 times - people who have nothing to do with the subject are getting involved which makes it very complicated. Sometimes it felt like they want meetings in their calendar to seem more important. Way too many people think their opinion is the only correct one without listening to others. In general nobody listens - neither HR nor supervisors. If you want to discuss an issue - save you time.
They want to invent nearly everything new. The results are often high costs, timelines which cannot be fulfilled and half produced products.
As I said, some do no work. Others have to compensate for this. Therefore, some have the easiest life while others suffer. There are strict office days - which is terrible as all meetings are schedules in those two days.
Really poor salary. You get the minimum even though an all-in contract. and I did never receive an increase in salary.
There are bins to separate trash in the office.
The people who truly work together and try to accomplish something well can be counted on one hand. Many work primarily for their own benefit rather than delivering good quality. Others then have to pay for this once again. However, no one is held accountable
There are no older colleagues.
Terrible. Supervisors who don't listen to their employees. Some supervisors just push their work onto others - zero leadership. Many are also very unqualified as supervisors - the main concern was that the people were cheap, not that they were qualified as leaders. It feels like the CEO and HR are only interested in their own well-being. You can only rely on your supervisors very, very rarely.
For some better; for some terrible. No appreciation.
There is no honest communication. Outwardly to the employees, everything seems great, which is a big lie. Promises are made that are either not fulfilled or cannot be fulfilled.
There are different projects, some of which are quite exciting.
Sehr angenehm.
So verdient kununu Geld.
