The friendly people, supportive culture, the smooth onboarding, interesting product, modern workplace, and genuine focus on employee well-being.
I honestly cannot think of anything bad to mention.
Offer more flexibility for remote work and define clearer career paths.
I experienced an open, respectful, and welcoming work atmosphere. The onboarding process was smooth and well organized, which helped me settle in quickly.
I felt that the company represented itself well and created an environment that employees could be proud of.
The company genuinely cares about employee well-being and offers useful health-related benefits. There is still room for more flexibility around remote work.
I had opportunities to learn through new responsibilities and regular feedback. I think even clearer career paths could make long-term development even stronger.
I was happy with the overall benefits package, which offered several valuable extras. While I found the salary fair, I think there is room for further development over the long term.
The focus on employee health and a positive workplace culture is clearly noticeable. There is awareness of sustainability, although there is always room to expand these efforts. Additional benefits such as a climate-friendly public transport could also be attractive.
I always felt comfortable asking for help, and everyone contributed to a positive working environment.
Knowledge sharing happens naturally across different levels of experience. However, sometimes being more open someone's ideas and opinions could improve collaboration.
I experienced my managers as approachable, supportive, and open to feedback. They trust employees and encourage ownership.
The workspace supports productive work and includes several nice amenities.
I found communication to be open and transparent, with regular updates and opportunities to ask questions. Occasionally, I would have appreciated a bit more context behind certain decisions.
Everyone is treated respectfully regardless of background or role. Diversity and inclusion are taken seriously. There is still room for being more aware of biases when evaluating work and performance.
I work on varied and engaging tasks that allowed me to learn and develop my skills. I enjoy working on a growing SaaS product and appreciated the opportunity to continuously learn.
Teilweise sehr strikte Regelungen in bestimmten Bereichen.
The people, along with all the aspects already mentioned.
I honestly cannot think of anything bad to mention.
It’s hard to point out any negative things to criticize. Here are some ideas that could be considered in the future: Shorter core hours, the possibility of workations, more home office days, a defined training budget per employee per year.
The atmosphere here is open, appreciative, and consistently respectful. I really value the open-door policy, which is genuinely practiced at TimeTac. The culture encourages sharing ideas and asking questions, and you truly feel welcome from day one.
In my view, the company enjoys an very good image.
Thanks to flexible working hours, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is easy, allowing employees to work efficiently while also taking care of personal commitments.
We have employee appraisals on a regular basis, and in-house trainings with a specific focus are also offered. Additionally, individual development—both professional and personal—is actively encouraged and supported.
As far as I can tell, the salaries are very fair for the Austrian market. Our internal benefits are excellent and diverse. They range from Food vouchers and massage or Shiatsu sessions to the option of psychological and mental health support.
The team spirit is truly collegial and supportive. I can always rely on my colleagues. Knowledge is shared willingly, which makes collaboration both efficient and enjoyable. We often spend breaks or lunch together, and regular team events further strengthen our sense of togetherness. Our internal Buddy-System is especially helpful during the initial phase.
While age is not a determining factor here, our team is generally on the younger side, which reflects the nature of our industry.
As far as I know, all Team Leads demonstrate a respectful and appreciative attitude, setting clear goals and expectations. Employees are involved in decision-making, communication is open, and personal circumstances are treated with understanding.
Our modern office is located in the heart of Graz and is easily reachable by public transport. A standout feature is the rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying lunch with a view over the city and hosting many company events.
Our internal communication is very open and transparent. One key benefit is our regular meetings, where both colleagues and management share current information and updates on a wide range of topics, making it easy for employees to stay up to date.
Equality is upheld in all aspects, and it is one of the key values of our company.
I am very satisfied with my role, which is engaging and offers a lot of variety.
The people; a kind, diverse and fun set of humans. The cool SaaS products we get to build and improve. The interesting and really diverse challenges to tackle, the impact we can have and just generally enjoying being at work.
There’s nothing I genuinely dislike at the moment. I feel safe to voice suggestions and concerns with my manager and the people team (HR).
This is hard. TimeTac is a well-running organization, so this is more a collection of ideas than criticism: what I’ve had in other tech companies and enjoyed were: a performance-based bonus system, company equity, more home office days, a dedicated conference/training budget per employee/year, well-formulated career paths per role, working remotely from abroad 2–6 weeks a year, dedicated diversity/equity/inclusion mentoring programs to diversify the leadership team.
TimeTac is a genuinely great workplace. I don’t dread Mondays; I actually look forward to going to work. The products are interesting and my work is multifaceted.
TimeTac is well known locally and continues to grow its visibility. The company invests in showing more of how we work, and we’ve started hosting public events, which supports that direction.
Compared to other tech companies, I rarely see people stressed to their core due to their workload. I can personally arrange my work as I see fit and can come and go flexibly, within reasonable guardrails. When I leave for the weekend, I can mentally let work stay at work.
You can learn a lot at TimeTac and grow in many ways: through communities of practice, exchange with colleagues, mentoring. TimeTac has a flat hierarchy; if you’re after loads of promotions in a short amount of time, a larger global tech company will serve this need better.
Salaries are fair within the Austrian market. It can‘t quite compare with international Silicon Valley tech salary standards, but the social system and infrastructure in Austria are good, so you don’t need to budget for private health care or even a car.
Waste is separated, printers aren’t overused, heating is used responsibly, food isn’t wasted. I’d also say it’s also a rather health-conscious company; sponsoring events like the Graz Business Run.
Newbies are welcomed open-heartedly through structured onboarding, including a buddy program. Team members and managers support each other. Breaks are spent together if you like. You can hear people having an occasional laugh in their offices. There are quarterly team events, rooftop gatherings etc. People also meet outside of work for darts, billiard, bouldering; you name it. Lasting friendships have formed at TimeTac; it’s a bunch of great people.
We’re a rather young team, which again is normal for tech companies. What’s interesting is that there are plenty of colleagues with a really long tenure (5+, 10+ years) at TimeTac, which really speaks for the company as an employer.
My manager gives me a great deal of trust, transparency and freedom, which is really all one can ask for. Obviously this depends on the manager, but generally speaking, leaders are decent humans with a good moral compass in addition to their skillset.
We’re supported in many ways: free equipment choice within a budget, daily food vouchers, a health budget, massages, a central office with a rooftop terrace, occasional paid lunches, team events etc.
It‘s fairly transparent what we’re working towards: TimeTac has an annual strategy and we get to set quarterly team OKRs. In a bi-weekly rhythm, there are company-wide business updates and teams can share insights. Remote and asynchronous communication is ever improving; we use Slack, Google Meet etc.
(As in many tech companies!) leadership isn’t yet as diverse as the wider team. The overall team, however, is very mixed: we’re from over 18 nations, different ages and social backgrounds.
There is so much variety in my work! I get to solve really tricky business problems and collaborate across teams. This is my number one driver for loving my work at TimeTac.
Kollegialer Zusammenhalt
Offene und freundliche Arbeitsatmosphäre
Abwechslungsreiche Aufgaben
- The product
- The working place/office
- Company trips and events
- Onboarding of new employees including welcome package
- Benefits like food allowance, health budget (e.g., inhouse-Shiatsu), etc.
Home office days two times a week is okay, but in 2023 this is no longer sufficient – especially when you are in the software industry.
The employment reference that I received after having worked for the company for more than 5 years did not meet basic requirements.
There is no real career path for employees who want to earn more money long term. If people want to earn significantly more, they either have to take over responsibility for a team/department or leave the company.
The management often declares that self-reflection is important for team leads, but does not question their own decisions and behavior.
The way very loyal colleagues, who had worked many years for the company, got dismissed is questionable and kind of respectless.
If employees are dismissed, they are – in some cases – being treated like criminals and do not even get the chance to say goodbye to their colleagues.
- Be more honest with your employees
- Stay behind your team leads even if situations are challenging
- Become more flexible regarding home office and remote work – it's a software company
- Live regarding the company values -> Walk the Talk!
- Create an environment that allows different opinions -> groupthink
The colleagues are friendly and supportive. Also, the team spirit is ok. However, the HR department often causes unrest and uncertainty among colleagues. I also witnessed several occasions where colleagues did not agree with management decisions but did not dare to speak up during company meetings because of fear of consequences. There were examples where they could see what would happen if they had a different opinion.
Depending on the department employees are in, the options are very limited.
The salary is just average. If employees ask for a raise, they need to be very careful how to ask for it.
Poor leadership
Overall, pretty good. Nice office in the city center of Graz. Equipment like computers, monitors, etc. can be chosen by the employee.
Regular company wide meetings, including a free lunch, to get insights into business development and work done by other teams. Also food vouchers are a big plus. There is an annual health budget, which can be spent on free Shiatsu massages, which are really great.
There is nothing really bad.
Improve communication on how certain decisions have been made. Especially when a colleague is let go. Don't take negative feedback too personal.
The overall atmosphere and solidarity between colleagues is exceptional. Sure, issues arise once in a while, but are usually sorted out quickly.
TimeTac is a growing company. If you were to talk to a random person on the street, they probably would not know the brand. However, in the time tracking industry, it is well recognized - especially in the german speaking area.
Overall great, but could be improved. The company has a rather strict understanding of home office. This is understandable and well explained, but also somewhat limits personal flexibility at times. However, exceptions are made for special occasions, such as doctor's appointments. In general this is a rather tricky topic and adjustments are difficult and it's probably impossible to make everyone happy.
There is a certain budget availably to every employee. Upon approval from a direct manager, certain training is granted.
Inflation is not the company's fault, but still affects everyone. I suppose the majority of employees is rather happy with their compensation. There are no bonuses based on performance, but the reason for that has been communicated clearly.
Colleagues are not always friends, but this does not mean, that collaboration can not be done professionally. Everyone should respect, that sharing information about private life is an individual's choice.
Based on age, there is definitely no negative treatment.
It's impossible to work without ever making a mistake. I've never experienced any rude, violent (verbal) behavior and everyone involved is interested in resolving problems.
Office is large and nice. Airconditioning keeps everyone cool during hot summer days. If there is an issue, facility management is resolving it rather quickly. Required maintenance work is properly communicated in advance.
Management holds recurring meetings /events for employees and those in higher positions to keep everyone informed and up to date. Sometimes certain decisions could be communicated in more detail, especially when a colleague is let go. This does not happen very frequently, but when it does, it is not always comprehensible for everyone, especially those in other departments.
Never experienced anyone being treated in an unfair way.
It depends on which department you work in and sometimes tasks are repetitive. This is nothing unusual and not really the company's fault. Overall, management keeps a good focus on growth and tries to penetrate new markets.
