Paid lunch break
Really good working environment.
Less micromanagement for team-leaders.
During the work, I feel really good, coleagues are friendly and atmosphere is in general very good. A bit could be improved on the manager side, I feel like the tea-leaders could really be more leaders instead bosses.
Good reputation
Perfect
Perfect.
Had a misunderstanding with the manager, it was properly managed.
Really good conditions, and properly staffed office.
Good Communication about the situation and goals. However there are many situations when people leave the company/get fired without us knowing the situation (What happened)
Is good but could be better.
The willingness to invest in me, to expand my knowledge and be better at my job.
If something does not work it can be addressed. Ideas for improvements are encouraged and where possible are being considered.
N/A
The one thing that really stands out is the work culture and spirit. People help each other were they can and everyone is approachable and not hung up on position or office politics.
The goal is clear we want to continue to produce the best software in the business.
There are many interesting projects which take energy to carry out. Work life balance is encouraged, which shows in various supports given, lunch time as part of work time, flexitime instead of all-in contracts etc
Personally, I have made very good experiences in working with my management team.
Open Floor plan with a human touch, top notch laptops, home office, and the Wuzzel table to name a few
Scaling up the business means scaling communication and this is being developed and input is sought and attended to.
Part of our company's DNA
I work here for some time, but every day I learn something new. Technically, this is a very challenging field involving many different tech stacks and also the possibility to try out things, eg via Hackathons.
Team colleagues and our team leads.
I'm learning a lot from them every day.
Top-down mentality
Employee feedback is encouraged, however concerns are disregarded when decisions are made.
Not much support from management, who seem to distrust employees in general.
Currently very low due to many leavers, but it was great before and I expect it to be great again after a few months with new joiners.
We are mostly in the fossil fuel business, so not so high.
Budget is very conservative.
Great at the beginning, but hard to get increases later.
We separate our trash and do not use the AC too much.
Amazing team colleagues, who are competent, positive and supportive.
Great office! Also a fan of open space office. But it is noisy on busy days.
Among my team it is great, but overall management does not have a great communication style with employeesl
We celebrate lbtq!
the constant thrive to get better and the very human management team
better waste separation, bigger computer monitors
Although I'm not a fan of the open space office, we're ok'ish with it so far. The office has a few bugs, but is designed in a friendly way and offers some practical features such as height-adjustable tables. One can also disappear into a silent area at any time if necessary. Honestly friendly colleagues, free coffee and an actively used soccer table round off the picture nicely.
As a commuter I am very happy about the flexible time handling. It saves time and energy to skip the rush hour on the one hand as well as being in home office (up to half the days) on the other. No overtime is asked for - on the contrary, care is taken not to accumulate any.
I would like to see better waste separation, but Vienna is simply behind Lower Austria by default ;-)
Unlike anything else I've experienced in my job life before Trayport, there are career opportunities. Managers even ensure that potential is promoted and rewarded accordingly.
I couldn't wish for better colleagues. Within the teams, no one is left in the lurch, if necessary you bite through together. when/where it suits, something is done together after work. Everyone is accepted as they are.
I am also leaning toward the older generation and am 99.99% sure no one has ever been fired because of their age. People are treated respectful in general.
The larger the company, the more difficult it is to communicate well. Some things go well, sometimes things go wrong or are connected with bureaucracy. What counts for me is that people admit what is wrong and are trying to fix it. Honest 3.69 stars for this category :)
Not that we'd need to, because everything is and ever was perfectly fine, but of course we follow the general trend of overdoing it.
I would describe my time here with "constantly new challenges". Most of the tasks are interesting - when they aren't, I like to see them as a learning task.
As most people in the company say (and I agree), people are the main good thing about the company: the team is very open, friendly and helpful.
Some of the company benefits (e.g. paid lunch) are quite unique.
I would find helpful:
- Clearer responsibility split among the departments
- Clearer career paths
- Having own place to work (as opposed to free desk policy)
Flexitime in general allows to settle good work-life balance but somehow I didn't manage to find a good balance: the number of tasks is sometimes overwhelming and it's hard to leave work behind when you are actually out of office.
The company provides training budget and opportunity for personal development plan. Unfortunately, due to the workload I rarely get to use these.
Career path in my department is extremely limited but internal applications to other positions are quite welcome by the company. It's very difficult to apply for a position in London though.
The colleagues are helpful and forthcoming, questions (even basic and recurring) get answered quite quickly. The only exception is when some colleagues are under time pressure.
The working conditions degraded slightly since the office move. Previously people used to have fixed places in rooms with 3-4 people. Now it's somewhat semi-open space (with some walls and soundproofing in-between though). It's also a free desk policy, which means that every day I need to first see if the place I like is occupied by a faster colleague, then (most likely) search for another place, bring stuff from my locker, set up my table, chair, laptop, screens and clean up at the end of day. For me personally that affected the sense of belonging in the company quite massively.
On a good side, I got to sit around different people with whom I usually don't have so much contact and build better relationships. Also changing the place sometimes helps refresh the perspective.
The laptops and other gear are fine.
Regular company meetings and newsletters provide a good insight into the company performance and goals. Unfortunately, rationale behind some decisions can be unclear.
The equity, diversity and inclusion are talked about quite openly. There is still some room for improvement left in practical terms but in general the situation is great.
The employee's interests and expertise are usually taken into account when the tasks are distributed.
