A pleasant working environment

sometimes there seems to be a lack of direction which results in jumping back and forth between topics.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The work environment is a good mix between interesting and challenging tasks and collaborations with other teams and people. Having a independent working style is valued and you are treated fairly.
At release times it occasionally gets a bit chaotic, but everyone does their best to deliver a good product.
Kommunikation
The management regularly informs about news, wins and accomplishments.
There are quarterly 1on1s with your manager to discuss personal accomplishments and your development of your skills. I feel informed about what's going on in the company and how I am viewed in the company.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Colleagues are very pleasant to work with. We always have fun lunch and coffee breaks.
Work-Life-Balance
Everyone can decide on their work-life balance. Vacation is granted when you request it and there are flexible working hours.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
My manager directly confronts me with feedback or issues and we together think about solutions and steps to improve. I always felt treated fairly, even when the topics are unpleasant.
Interessante Aufgaben
The tasks are very interesting and challenging. What makes it interesting is that you are working on a product rather than on projects. This means that you always expand and improve an existing product which I find more interesting than jumping from project to project.
Gleichberechtigung
The percentage of women (around 20%) is low, as usual in an IT company, but they are represented on all levels. Women are treated equally as far as I can observe.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Age does not play a role in how you are treated here. They tend to have more experience and knowledge so they usually take a more senior role in the teams.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The equipment is very good and custom requests are also regularly granted. You get 2 27' monitors and a Z Book which is very good at current times. You have a nice view on the city around the tower.
On hotter days in summer the air conditioning has issues to keep up with the demand though.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
The salary is good.

Karriere/Weiterbildung
Changing departments to climb up the career ladder is common. Positions are open for internal and external so anyone can apply. There are different programs offered to improve. Like for example a Coursera account where you can invest 2h/week on work-time.
