Verbesserungsvorschläge

Higher management needs to changed immediately. Also the biggest problem is the lack of competent PM. You won't solve any problems by making engineers type faster. Please wake up!

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The atmosphere used to be the best thing about Tricentis. But it has degraded rapidly in the last couple of months now that Tricentis has full on embraced american work culture, from the 90s. I have been part of engineering for quite a while and I have to say that there has always been an underlying mistrust towards engineers from highest levels of management. Engineers are always and always have been under general suspicion of constantly slacking off, giving too high estimations, being too slow or simply being too incompetent. External developers or people joining the company after mergers have always been praised and used as an example to degrade to efforts of the own long term engineers. This used to be ok because engineering had amazing managers that were able to manage that kind of mistrust brought towards engineers. But those managers were now given the chop. Another source fueling the fire is product management that used to write code themselves 25 years ago and thus now thinks they have any idea how complex distributed systems are developed these days. To them everything is easy because they were able to code a fat client in the 90s and they will hold that to your face.

Kommunikation

Communication has never been strong at Tricentis. It is completely chaotic and there is a huge disconnect. It is a fact that as of right now many engineers are not even one hundred percent sure what team they belong to and even less sure what they are actually working on or even who their superior is. Many things are just kind of up in the air and this created big uncertainty. I have the impression that higher management doesn't see this problem and the lack of communication. From their perspective everybody seems to be informed.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

The colleagues in your team will be the coolest thing at Tricentis. I have colleagues that I really like and I consider myself to be even friends with some of my fellow engineers. I know though that in the recent past some people have joined that solely joined to advance their own careers. They have agendas and no problem throwing others under the bus for it.

Work-Life-Balance

This used to be ok in my opinion. In the recent weeks the pressure on engineers is exponentially growing. Management tries to mask it by giving random days off but most people can see right through it. As I hinted in the headline the problem is that slow engineers are seen as the root of all problem. Now that managers have been cut that were shielding engineers from that nonsense pressure on engineers to "code faster" is growing rapidly.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

I have always had really good superiors and they valued employees being seeing that as a "human resource". I'm not completely sure who my manager is at the moment because some managers are on parental leave but I don't really have strong connection to him/her or guidance.

Interessante Aufgaben

Well the topics are actually quite interesting if you manage to shield yourself from all the nonsense. In this completely chaotic setup you are actually able to dive into some interesting topics on your own.

Gleichberechtigung

Women are underrepresented and the initiatives of supporting women are a joke. It is about having discussion and women having breakfast together at the office. I know for a fact that women coming back from parental leave are treated unfairly in regards to their position as well as compensation. Papamonat is discouraged.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There is like one developer over 40.

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is actually really nice.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

The pay is definitely below average. I do interviews with other companies regularly and each single one of the opportunities would have better pay. Great working atmosphere is what kept me from accepting those in the past.
