Job Description

Behind every innovative Evatec system are reliable suppliers, strong partnerships, and the right electronic components. As Global Category Manager Electronics, you will take ownership of a strategically important category and continuously develop its global sourcing strategy. With your market expertise, negotiation skills, and ability to bring together internal and external stakeholders, you will make a significant contribution to the competitiveness and future success of our technologies.

What you will be doing

• Drive category strategy: you define and implement global sourcing strategies for electronic and electrical components, motors, control cabinets, and electronic assemblies.
• Lead impactful negotiations: you are responsible for price and contract negotiations, evaluate supplier offers, and identify sustainable cost optimization opportunities.
• Build strong supplier partnerships: you establish strategic relationships, develop existing suppliers, and identify new sourcing opportunities worldwide.
• Ensure supply continuity: you work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to secure the optimal availability and performance of your category.
• Understand markets and seize opportunities: you monitor market and technology trends, assess risks and opportunities, and support internal stakeholders in strategic decision making.

What you should bring

• Solid foundation: you hold a technical or commercial qualification, ideally complemented by further education in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
• Strategic procurement experience: you bring several years of experience in Category Management, Commodity Management, or Strategic Procurement within an international industrial environment.
• Technical understanding: you are familiar with electronic, electrical, or electromechanical components and understand technical interdependencies.
• Digital mindset: you are proficient in MS Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Strong communicator: you communicate confidently in German and English, collaborate effectively in international teams, and are willing to travel occasionally (approximately 15%).
