I have never been so demotivated at a job and it shocked me how less people care about their jobs. When you work at a call center and people, instead of taking support calls, are calling to their house or to their dentist to change appointments or whatever...and nothing is done about this, you get an idea. No inspiration to be found amongst the majority of the colleagues.

You get an order and you have to do what they ask. When you ask for an explanation or further support, the answer 'I don't know, I am only the one who has to tell you this' is something I regularly heard from my supervisors. Not a motivating thing. Most supervisors that I worked with also act like their only goal is to make it through the day alive.
Team-dependent. On the surface many people pretend to be good friends with each other and I am sure several of them genuinely are. There are some groups of colleagues that also exercise or have other activities together outside of work. However, there is a immense atmosphere of back-stabbing and of hypocrisy. This goes for all teams, from floor workers to middle management (can't judge higher management). When you are not a person who is willing to join the groups and cliques who hang out after work, within a month you will be faced with gossips and mainly straight up lies about you that would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. A plain toxic environment that you don't wish your worst enemy. But again, in your face the majority of the people act or pretend to act nicely.
You know that you do not have to expect an intellectually challenging job when you are working in customer support. Once you have learned the required skill set you auto-pilot your way through the day.
What I did like was the fact that you can communicate with customers from all over the world.
Decisions are made and you are informed about them. Input is not taken into account, which is a structural problem considering the fact arvato has to take into account what Bertelsmann or Microsoft wants, at least when it comes to the support center in Münster.
Can't judge this properly but I did not hear any negatives about this one.

Completely regular, nothing good or bad here, just how it should be. In general respectful.
Karriere / Weiterbildung
Oh sure they offer position internally and everyone can apply. You might even get an interview. A direct colleague of mine who was better qualified and more experienced, did not get a chance at a higher position. This colleague did not speak the specific language that they were apparently looking for, even if that fact is not mentioned in a job description at all. The person who was hired for this position was only at the company for three months and, with all the respect, was still not capable of handling a basic case without making less than 3 critical errors. This is one example, I can give many more on request.
If you are friends with the team lead, or sucked up to the supervisors/management, you will get a better position. Especially in the Technical Support team the hiring process for coaches was an absolute joke. The person with the 4th (out of 5 candidates!) best score for the assessment got the job because this person was outside of work befriended to a specific manager. Laughable.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
I don't expect a Customer Service job to pay well. Yet you will earn slight under the average wage level for this job.
A not function airconditioning which causes major issues during both winter and summer. In the time that I worked there, 3 people passed out during summer when the temperature was 28-30 degrees. I find this shocking. The computers are not up to date, face regular update and functionality issues which is a joke for a company that provides IT-customer support.
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
'Für die Bühne'. I refuse to believe there is a genuine interest in this when your own employees have to work in the equivalent of a greenhouse. Ironically the plants in here are all dead and not removed.
Regular working hours so nothing wrong here. If you are asked to work overtime, do not be afraid to say no. Even if the supervisors or chefs push you which is not uncommon, you are not entitled to do this if you do not want to do this. I refused it every single time I was asked and it did not had any consequences for me. If you perform well you do not have to worry about this.
When you approach people internally and explicitly ask them in a one-on-one conversation that they would appreciate a good review and ask you if you would be willing to give them one, I find that repulsive. I know several ex-colleagues who didn't see harm in this and who feared for their position. However, I think this shows the true spirit of this place.

There are people who highly appreciate fresh fruit. The company has that, every Tuesday. Sometimes even the toilets are clean, which is a blessing during your break.
