Charismatic office.
Puts economic development in front of human and social development.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR PEOPLE and put capable, psychologically sane and mature management in place. Stop drinking so much wine.
Colleguial working atmosphere where freedom of speech is not guaranteed. Minorities are to be respected and thought of above everything else. You must be super careful to not say something, that the upper, morally weak management, thinks of being inappropriate, which is basically anything that offends their political agenda of "inclusivity". People suffer from that, and they know it. But the rules cannot be broken, or you are out.
Atheneum has a reasonably good image in order to ascend one's career ladder
Work frmo 9 to 6. Plus if you have to come from far away, you have to consider travel costs. Forget about doing much more aside from work.
If you work in sales, the changes in titles are really just, redundant. It won't get you much further into your career. Try to use Atheneum as a jumping platform, to something higher, better.
The payments could be a lot better, but it is in standard lines for a firm that size.
As said, cero concience over human welfare or the environment. They support a "plant one tree for every call" they make, but in reality that's the only "greenwashing" policy put into place. Why doesn't management go and plant the trees themselves? Too busy drinking wine, mate?
There are some sweet souls within the company that deserve better. They are the real MVP.
As said, there are some sweet, humane souls in there that deserve the best.
Bad. It really depends on your manager. But they are generally unexperienced, young individuals with much more to learn about life.
It is OK. The associates are exploited.
Non-transparent communication. Upper management has long forgotten the people of its company, dresses the value system of their company with a sustainable faccade of inclusion, and proceeds to indulge in wine (their office is literally, full of wine boxes) and look for investors. Profit overall, people second.
As said, inclusion policies mean exclusion. As soon as you put social rules into play, the natural interplay between the ethnicities, minorities and peoples is disturbed. Including these social rules or "values" really just signifies: "it is not OK how the world works naturally, we have to intervene because people are naturally racist", which goes against human morale & strength: we have indeed unconscious biases towards racism, it is naturally determined by our biology. We have yet to be strong and overcome them in search of our best self: the totality of all of us. The very fact that these "post-modern, neo-marxist" values are supported is exactly because, management believes people are weak, and uncapable of holding themselves accountable. Haven't we yet learned from the communist experience in the Soviet Union?? Read the gulag archipelago.
The tasks were OK, you are entertained for the rest of the day.
You can meet nice people here
- zero transparency-you never understand what happens in the company, even if you ask
- extreme favoritism- people in the same team with same level responsibilities get salaries with huge difference. Same years and level of experience are also rewarded differently if you unfortunately decide to apply for a role make sure to research what the salary level is for the role you have liked because they will for sure try to pay you much less and try to convince you that you will soon get a promotion or the bonus makes up for it -it doesn’t
- promotions are in terms of title only, you need to have 2-3 until you actually have change in responsibilities
- salaries are very low compared to the market salaries and salary increases are different for people depending on how much management likes you not on how well you have been doing your job
- no work-life balance: they will try to squeeze every last drop of energy from you every day and expect you to work over-hours. If you have a family or want to go to courses/activities after work you won’t be able to. Over-hours would not be compensated and the corresponding salary is definitely not enough for that
- the culture is not welcoming
They won’t act on any advice given anyway
Extremely stressful, definitely not worth the salary they offer. Management has 0 leadership experience and they are not open to changing that. Decisions are made top down and you can’t protest against that
Trying to create am image they don’t really live up to
You are expected to work over hours and if you don’t you are considered unmotivated. If you want to go to courses or any activities after working hours I can tell you you won’t be able to
The most This company can offer is a stepping stone to find a good hob afterwards, no outlook to progress here in a sustainable way. Zero trainings, people with 1,2 years experience become leaders and never get leadership trainings for example
Much lower than market salaries, if you are actually considering working here please research the market salaries as they will try to pay you much less
Never heard of any initiatives towards sustainability only the ones on the website which nobody has any info on, ask more detailed questions on the interviews and you will see that
You can find young ambitious people here however they won’t be staying long because the turnover is immense
Not many older colleagues as usually people with more experience leave super fast as they realize the things going on in the company are not normal and they won’t change because senior management doesn’t want to delegate decision making
Extremely limited mindset. Senior management doesn’t care about the people they are just a number to them and will be treated this way. Top down decisions
Cheapest options available in terms of hardware and software
Zero transparency, they hide everything from the employees. They believe they do not owe the employees any explanation for the decisions that are being made for the future of the company and changes to their everyday work responsibilities
No diversity plans, all diversity there is is pure coincidence. People are being paid based on how much senior management likes them not based on how well they do their job
Interesting projects

An exciting, young company atmosphere with a very international and dynamic team. Motivation and initiative are encouraged and recognised, creating the perfect environment to develop professional skills and career. Real responsibilities from day one mean business confidence has increased within a matter of months. Range of interesting services provided and impressive growth over the past 3 years - very exciting future prospects and I very much look forward to being part of it all!
Like any fast-growing young company with a global presence, some internal processes and communication could be improved. Conscious and serious efforts are however being made in order to ensure this.
Continue those efforts, they are making a real difference.
Young, international team creating a great atmosphere in the office.
Approachable management team who take the time to provide positive feedback.
It is a good environment out of university - real world atmosphere where hard work is required and expected, but also rewarded. The team is young and excited. The management team has worked their way up and are good role models for success.
It can be very high-stress and it is hard to do other things (study German, explore the city, etc) when you're new due to non-flexible working hours. I think employees do not always feel appreciated by management.
Keep the employee in mind when you think of changes - of course money is what keeps the company going, but without good employees the company will never succeed.
The people at Atheneum provide a really nice working atmosphere. With any young company, there can be a lot of change and that can be stressful, but the work is fast-paced which is better than other types.
It is a good opportunity to learn new things, be a part of a great team, and work in a realistic work environment. The clients and experts we work with are interested in what we do and it is an interesting company for others in Berlin.
You have to work at balancing your stress and professional life, but if you can let go you can have a separation between your two lives. You do have to work hard to leave on time, but any good job requires overtime here and there. The company supports young women and others who want to start families. The HR team helps with vacation requests and out-of-office needs.
The management tries to make career prospects clear but it is hard, since they don't know themselves. Clearer goals and expectations were released, but they are maybe too optimistic for what can be achieved now. Training is provided pretty regularly and it's not perfect, but they want to help us. The on-the-job training and learning from our mistakes is the best way to get promoted.
The starting salaries are low compared to outside of Berlin, but fair for the city, especially since there is a longer-term perspective and growth opportunities. It has a salary package for most positions, which mean you get paid for your work. This is fair, but hard if you do not make the goals regularly. Salary as you grow is fair and the company wants people to stay because they want to be a part of the company, not because the money's easy.
The company tries to recycle, but there aren't really any specific discussions or attempts to make a difference. The young team doesn't seem interested either.
The people you work with are very international and excited - most of them want to work together to make things happen. Generally there is a good spirit of teamwork.
It is a young company with less stability, lower incomes, and less need for experienced workers, so it has not attracted many employees over 45+. It is mostly a graduate opportunity to start a career.
It's a young team so people are still learning how to be better managers - but they want to improve, so it's a positive point.
It's a young company, so infrastructure is not the strongest area. Technology is ok and the building is alright. Plans to move to another office should improve space and noise issues. Pretty good compared to a lot of other offices, but worse compared to the start-up scene in Berlin with hip offices.
The management tries to keep people informed, but the progress is often too dynamic and everyone has different interests for this to really be successful so far. Tasks and goals are explained when possible, and the supervisors try to share information.
Usually the team is about half/half men and women. It is a very diverse team. The rule for advancement is easy: work hard, be a team-player, be pro-active, and prove that you are capable and interested in growing with the company.
If you are able and you ask for work, you will get it. Some people complain that nothing is handed to them, but that's not very realistic. The strongest people in the company have the best and most interesting tasks, because they've worked their way up from the start. In a company where everyone comes in as an analyst, you have the chance to really learn and prove what you can do, but that means you have to prove you can do the "simple" jobs too.
Atheneum provides a great learning environment for new professionals, a multi-cultural environment, and a familial environment between colleagues. The main office is in a vibrant city, perfect for young adults. We get the chance to communicate and work with high level executives and experts globally.
It has some of the typical start-ups weaknesses, including low salaries, communication issues, limited space, and under-trained management.
Continue along the avenues of improvement that you are implementing and raise the level of respect you have for your employees. They are people too and have to make a living that they half-way enjoy.
This is the part which needs the most work. Issues with salary, stress, and unreasonable expectations can lead to low morale. Its also rather loud in the offices. Once moving out of the start-up phase, Atheneum can improve this. Having such great colleagues improves the situation, but can only help so much.
The hours can be a bit long, but its great to have friends at work and the social events are pleasant. Vacation is generally given and no one yells if you're a tad late here and there as long as the work gets done.
Atheneum has a good plan in place for the main workforce's promotions and raises. Much of the administrative and support, however, have less room for moving up.
I hear there will be changes soon, but as with all startups, this company pays their employees much too little, with promises of more later. Management should keep in mind that these are full-time positions, not internships anymore.
encouraged to work paper-less, recycling in the kitchen
Colleagues feel like family and friendships are very common, particularly with the weekly social gathering. Its particularly great that everyone comes from so many backgrounds, speaking 30 some languages and bringing their fascinating cultures with them.
this is a young, dynamic company, mostly 20's and 30's. Older employees are welcome and seem comfortable.
Often times, unrealistic goals and plans are set, often in an effort to maximize profit and efficiency, when this often backlashes. Respect is often lacking, which brings down morale.
A move would be greatly appreciated, to accommodate the new hires. New IT products are making great steps towards improving team work and transparency, so good there.
This has greatly improved recently, but needs some more work at the higher levels.
Being woman has absolutely no affect on whether or not one gets a raise or treated differently. A healthy and fair portion of the management is female.
Projects can often be rather interesting, but there isn't enough time for depth
