The Downfall of Brammibal‘s Donuts
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Everything’s vegan
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Listen to your remaining employees, especially the ones that have been working for you for a long time
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It depends on which store you’re located in and if you’re understaffed. Which happens a lot because usually people quit really fast or a being fired. If all shifts are filled and there’s equal work load it can be pretty fun but sometimes it’s very overwhelming and you can’t catch up with the work
Kommunikation
Communication is horrible. Between the team it’s fine, communication from store management also good/ok but communication from upper management is just terrible or as I would rather phrase it: non existent
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Usually the teams gets along pretty well, you also make friends as you might share the same interests, a lot of young people work there so it’s cool. Some team members don’t really take their part though in some of the tasks so others might experience more work load but usually the store management tries to help with that if they are working on the shift.
Work-Life-Balance
It used to be better but now you’re usually just working a lot of hours or you’re barely above your minimum each month. Nothing really in between: Sometimes they put in you in for 5 days a week so you can match your hours, since some shifts are really short and they also keep shortening the shifts. So you will have to work more days in order to reach your minimum hours. Even if you’re working as a student/part time you might end up working 1-2 days more than necessary. Other than that the shift times are good, since the opening hours of the store have a wide range you usually have time to do something before or after work.
Managers are required to be available all the time even on their day off and they don’t get a work phone!
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Disrespectful behavior and responses from upper management towards bakery and front of house staff. Sometimes actually degrading.
Interessante Aufgaben
Changing drink menu so that’s maybe fun and of course you get different shifts to work but other than that it’s the same work every time and cleaning 30 things a day is not really interesting
Gleichberechtigung
People are treated equally and your gender/sexuality doesn’t matter at all, but I do think people that (might) have mental/physical health issues such as autism, anxiety, depression etc. are not treated correctly/taken seriously
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There’s not really any old people working in this company so I can’t say anything on this but maybe they also don’t hire any
Arbeitsbedingungen
Some stores are kind of falling apart and the company doesn’t really do anything about it, some stores are too cold in winter since the heating doesn’t work properly and some stores are too hot in summer because there’s no ventilation system. They also don’t really check and care about safety, out of date fire extinguishers are not replaced and there’s no sign in trying to find solutions for reported accidents other than that they use iPads and a modern system for the payment transactions and the other equipment is usually also modern and easy to use
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Things for the store are usually sent in reusable boxes such as letter donuts and syrup, they used to get their boxes for the donuts from China but I think that has changed. They use plastic cups only for iced drinks, no real cups for in store consumption just because they want to save money. About the ingredients of the donuts I don’t really know where they’re sourced from. The chocolate glaze is from original beans and also the coffee beans are from populus so there is definitely some effort in doing something better for the planet but there is a lot of things they need to change still
Gehalt/Benefits
Good bonuses such as BVG/Deutschland ticket and urban sports for a good price. You get holiday bonus, Sunday bonus and even night bonus which is amazing. The wage is just a little above minimum wage
Image
The image to the public is so so wrong and different to what goes on behind the scenes
Karriere/Weiterbildung
You can step up to be the manager/assistant or shift lead of a store eventually as there are multiple ones, for the bakery it’s just one spot for those positions. In the office all positions are filled, not possible to step up
