I completed a demanding application process for a Junior Data Scientist role, including a technical test and a multi-hour take-home project. Although I had clearly communicated that I was finishing my master’s thesis, this was later used as the reason for rejection - after I had already invested significant time.

No feedback was provided on my work, and it appears the submitted project wasn’t fully reviewed. A company that expects serious commitment from candidates should reflect that same level of respect in return.

I do have the suspect you just funnel them through some LLM and that's it.

My application literally respected FULLY every SINGLE bulletpoint you listed, and yet did not even make to a first call with a human, just received a generic template.

Treat your applicants with respect and on eye-level. Especially dealing with senior folk, the impression of being superior and belittling candidates is frankly quite alienating and embarrassing. Especially the management was very arrogant and pretentious, not holding back with how scientific their modelling is and how complex it is to understand. Good for you. Everyone else I spoke to during the process didn't seem super happy and rather exhausted.

Anyway, thanks for the transparency here on the severe misalignment of personal & professional values.

After several successful interview rounds, I advanced to the third stage, the case study, which was described as the prefinal step. Unfortunately, despite investing considerable effort and time in the process, I was informed of my rejection, which is completely fine, but without receiving any feedback on my performance or areas of improvement.
Upon requesting feedback to better understand the decision, I was informed that other candidates possessed more experience in recruiting and working with profiles aligned with the company's recruitment focus.

As someone actually having expertise in recruiting the exact same profiles in the past and in similar companies, this feedback raised significant concerns. I strongly believe that transparent and honest feedback throughout the interview process is pivotal.
Still, If this was the real reason for rejection, it should have been assessed earlier in the process. Proceeding to the prefinal stage without this alignment seems counterproductive for both the company and candidates.

This experience leaves me with the impression that the evaluation process might benefit from refining the initial screening to better match candidates' qualifications and experiences with the role's specific demands.

Please show some sympathy and respect to the candidates, the whole interview process were not pleasant at all, recruiting team is not professional as well as the managers, key questions were not answered clearly by them, it was more like throwing questions to you. At the end, no explanation on the rejection, I would not recommend to work here. At least I feel this has been the worst interview I have ever had.

Wenn man einen Senior Marketer einstellen will, sollte man das Interview nicht von jemanden führen lassen, der keine Ahnung von Marketing hat und dann gleichzeitig auch noch besserwisserisch auftritt und versucht einem ABM zu erklären ohne es selber verstanden zu haben oder nur Basiswissen zu besitzen.

The HR person looked very unmotivated. She didn’t look like she prepared for the interview. It seemed like she just got out of the bed. It felt like she just doesn’t want to be here. Companies need to remember that they need to present themselves well too, not only the candidates.

The talent acquisition team shouldn’t forget that the application process is a two way road - the company is also applying to the candidate, not just the other way around.

The senior talent acquisition manager hiring for HoM was extremely unpleasant and seemed unmotivated to answer questions - the ones she did answer were kept super short and generic without any input of making the company and role feel like an exciting opportunity.
