Working at Cello has been an incredible experience. As an early-stage company, the environment is fast-paced and full of opportunities to make a real impact. What truly sets this company apart is its lived remote culture. The team is just amazing and hope it stays that way as we grow further.
Simply an amazing team trying to achieve great things together. The work atmosphere is driven by taking ownership and thinking and acting as an entrepreneur and owner, not just an employee, while staying humble and working hard towards company goals.
Can be intense as in any high growth early stage startup. But the great team and common goal and sense of ownership make up for it. Also great flexibility and family friendly, also due to having a remote setup
Very experienced and setting an amazing example for the team, approachable, fair, humble and low hierarchy. Leadership values transparency and truly cares about the well-being and growth of every team member. Everyone is encouraged to share ideas, take ownership, and contribute to the company’s vision.
Strong communication as a fully remote team. Also leadership highly values and lives by open communication and transparency.
Definitely lived at Cello!
Never a lack of this at Cello
There is a strong sense of purpose and shared mission to deliver an outstanding product and learn along the way. There is a strong vibe and energy with a sense of experimentation and rapid iteration so everyday is exciting
Remote-first but with the right balance of check-ins and huddles; making sure you have the flexibility to work on real tasks while staying in the loop on the overall company direction and updates
Work can become intense; as a rapidly scaling and expanding startup brimming with exciting new developments, there is always so much to do; but the company overall is conscious of employees not burning out and will aim to stretch resources only when needed or when urgent
There is a strong sense of camaraderie and a shared purpose to deliver against targets. There is no sense of internal agenda or dirty politics as everyone is focused on achieving goals and improving the customer experience
Has diverse workforce but there is no sense of seniority or superiority
The founders have a strong complementary strengths and skillsets that ensures there is a good check-and-balance on the business vs product/tech side of things. Leaders are approachable, kind, personable and bring their own unique experiences to improve the company
Leaders communicate well and there is a culture of not dragging down big meetings down a rabbit hole; the company encourages calling out if discussions tend to go off tangent or if a discussion is better served by a smaller huddle.
Could do with more female hires but overall dynamics is good
I echo the steep learning curve and hit-the-ground running type of training, but this also ensures everyone develop a sense of accountability, ownership and presence from the get-go
Really great team dynamic! Despite being remote-first, there's amazing support and you can ask anyone questions. Got to meet the team at events early on which makes remote work much better
Super transparent about everything from company metrics to decision-making. The team is more senior than most startups, so you learn a lot.
The learning curve is steep. You get real ownership of projects from day one
Great atmosphere both in a professional work environment as well as on a personal level
Great investors and brand for a seed stage company, but obviously still room for improvement due to the companies stage
Fairly fair expectations and distribution of tasks, a lot of freedoms regarding the place of work
Always good and direct feedback, pretty flat hierarchies
Due to the remote first culture, there are minimal deductions here, although it has to be said that it is very good for an almost pure remote culture
Very steep learning curve due to a very fast moving environment, lot of exciting tasks, great ownership also for junior team members
Incredible collaboration in the team creates an energized work atmosphere
Good work-life balance for an early-stage startup as the experienced team is structuring workload efficiently
Budget for reading and learning. Plus loads of technology and tools to learn and experiment with.
I can own and drive your ideas with the great support of the founding team.
All the advantages of remote with the possibility to regularly meet in one of Munichs coworking spaces.
This is an exciting opportunity for me to shape a rapidly growing MarTech startup in the field of user-led growth.
So far pretty much everything. The challenge will be to conserve this while scaling.
More swag :)
Amazing colleagues, cool team on-site events that take place in different countries each quarter and funny remote events
Cello is a young slick company but with potential to build a strong brand
Probably the steepest learning curve you can have is joining an early-stage company in general
Every employee gets shares of the company and the packages seemed to be pretty attractive.
Room for improvement but the management takes it seriously
Pretty diverse team also in terms of age
Remote first has it challenges but the right tools, meetings and processes make it feel easy
It feels that we're really disrupting an industry and not working the 10th food delivery app
