Verbesserungsvorschläge
I think the company could establish clearer and quicker decision making processes.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The team atmosphere is quite nice, I feel very welcome to discuss any topic with all levels including management and I feel that all opinions are appreciated and valued.
Kommunikation
In general, I think I have enough transparency about the company development, company goals and clarity about how I'm expected to contribute. I think communication to achieve great cross team alignment can sometimes still be improved but nothing that would inhibit me from getting my work done efficiently.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The colleagues are really great, there's a lot of support across the company and everyone is super willing to help each other. There are lots of smart, motivated people, so it's quite fun to work with colleagues and the team is definitely one of the main reasons why I enjoy working at Cozero.
Work-Life-Balance
There are always more things to do than what you can get done like you might imagine for a start up environment. Therefore, to not feel overwhelmed and get too stressed it's important to set your own boundaries and make sure you get off work and keep your work-life-balance, and that's largely left to your own responsibility. So you should be capable of setting boundaries and setting priorities in your own tasks. On the upside, if you're able to do so you can manage the workload quite well as it's very accepted that you don't work crazy hours and make clear where you need support / cannot meet deadlines.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
My manager is very supportive and gives me a lot of freedom to make decisions within my area of responsibility, so I feel quite valued and trusted.
In general, I believe that you can raise anything and talk about any issue with the management team quite openly (including team leads and founders). You should be prepared to also face critical questions by management when we fail to deliver what we had expected (which happens everywhere every once in a while). However, I have never felt that this is due to distrust but rather think that the founders are really trying to understand where we can get better as a company and also where they can support us better.
Interessante Aufgaben
The tasks are super diverse ranging from simple to really complex, and I quite enjoy both the mix and the changing nature of the tasks as the company grows and innovates. I typically get bored easily after a while at a job but have never felt that at Cozero because as a start up in a field with a lot of change and innovation we need to keep changing what we're working on and keep expanding our skill set.
Gleichberechtigung
The team is super divers with regards to gender, nationality, background etc., so I don't see any issue with this at the company. The CEO is also female, which I think is great for hopefully inspiring women at the company to also pursue leadership roles if they want to.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There are basically no older colleagues, not due to not wanting to hire anyone above a certain age but rather because the tech start up space is just more interesting to younger people. However, I think that older colleagues would be fully accepted and integrated into the team just like everybody else.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Working conditions are quite good, also see my comments above on work life balance.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The company is generally quite aware of environmental and social issues as a climate tech company. However, in the concrete daily business I think there's still room for taking our own environmental impact more seriously, e.g. trying to avoid business trips by flight where possible.
Gehalt/Benefits
I'm happy with the salary and I think it's quite fair. You should not expect the salary that large tech companies pay but you can expect a fair salary and transparency on salary bands etc.
Image
Generally, I think that there's a bit of a mixed picture. I think some former employees have not had the best impression of the company leading to some turnover in employees, and the company has maybe not reacted quickly enough to that signal. I think learnings have been taken from that though, and I think that current employees generally talk nicely about the company and appreciate their jobs.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There's a lot of room for learning and growing professionally as well as clear career frameworks to make sure every employee knows how to grow and achieve the next level. There's also a lot of openness to people transitioning to new roles / between teams where suitable. However, in a small company the options to grow into particular rows are of course more limited than in bigger companies, so e.g. growing into a team lead role is naturally only possible when a suitable row is open.
