Was macht dein Arbeitgeber im Umgang mit der Corona-Situation nicht gut?

They fired dozens of people when they had the first chance to do it. There was and is no solidarity. Some say they abuse the crisis to clean up.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Normally 0 as most people live in fear in this company and are triggered by fear. But 1 star for some good people I met there. All of which left the company before or shortly after me. Very sad.

Kommunikation

Communication happens behind people's backs. No one trusts anybody. ALTEN ist propably the industry leader of gossiping. If you like this please join. Decisions are taken in back chambers, on the basis of rumors, by managers who literally hate each other and that's a mirror of the communication that happens after these "decisions"

Kollegenzusammenhalt

1 star for some colleagues with which at least a kind of fellowship was possible, as far as this can go in alten. The border mostly is a potential +1E or +1P for some KPI file. Then it ends. A sad and wanted reality in this company. Good and honest new joiners many times left in probation period. Older managers and esp. Technical Direction do not start learning the names of new people unless they are out of probation period. Ah and if you are not french and / or join the gossiping game ... forget it.

Work-Life-Balance

Exploitation of people is one of the business models basis. There is not a single project calculation I saw that is not taking this as a baseline for WL estimation and project planning. Bad people in the leadership cascade down a working model that burns people by the dozens. The turnover is so high in this company that on every newcomer bats are places how long he will stay - and the time is measured in weeks. Not months and certainly not years. With 3 years in the company I am sure you belong to the top 10% of longest lasting employees.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Well, the post below called "management by fear" is a valid description of many things. The top management works by threatening, pushing, bullying and personally insulting managers and consultants to achieve KPIs they don't understand in order to report figures to french managers who are even worse. Ah and not to forget the public humiliation of colleagues in front of others that the top management loves so much.

Interessante Aufgaben

A few projects are interesting, no doubt. Anyhow, most people do the famous Alten CPE - Copy Paste Engineering. Consultants with MBAs, good Degrees and also some with job experience end up doing manual reportings, work instructions and in the end are manipulated to feel bad and quit by themselves.

Gleichberechtigung

Nope this does not exist. It is like in the Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Only very few older colleagues are in the company as most people are hired directly from university. in this state they are easily fooled and manipulated and "air castles" are easily sold. We witnessed this companies buying other successful companies and after 6 months of integration none of the companies exist anymore and all former employees left. Very sad.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Highly depends on the project. To sell it to newcomers there is one brand new Google style office but 95% of people sit in HDW barracks

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

There is no such thing. I have not seen a single honest social or sustainability effort in more then 3 years. If they do it, it is a "mandatory requirement" by a bigger account customer who wants to see it on a ppt slide or sth.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries are the lowest of all competitors and companies I have seen. Alten dumps people so much it is unbelievable and the managers celebrate themselves for it when they e.g. push the salary of a person down in negotiation talks. Some say that it is an open secret that Alten wins most of the projects via the low price so it does not take an Einstein to see where the money needs to be made. There are not many variables in this calculation.

Bad. Simply bad. In front of customers just as among consultants and managers.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

There is no training. If you get one, the next yearly appraisal might incorporate it in the salary raise so the managers use it as bargain.
