Friendly colleagues, team culture, interns/trainees also receive a fair wage.
Timing of communication from management. The sudden shift to prioritising German as the business language when we had international colleagues.
High staff turnover during my time.
Invest in supportive internal processes and team members. Implement feedback from colleagues.
disillusioned over time
Mostly reasonable. Overtime could usually be balanced throughout the week. Some colleagues in operational and senior roles were overworked.
No clear progression plan or initiative from the company to support learning. Before cuts, there used to be more benefits, like language courses and coaching.
reasonable
active topic
For me, this was the best part. Colleagues support and understand each other, and you look forward to spending time even outside of work.
A lot of long-term colleagues left during my time.
Assumptions that in my experience were not verified with team members. Being blindsighted by decisions made by managing directors.
Overall good. Hybrid set-up 2 fixed office days per week.
In the summer it gets very hot.
The majority of communication between project members worked well when expectations were clearly defined. Feedback meetings at the end of projects were missing, as you had to jump onto the next project.
Women were the first to seek out leaving the company when issues arose internally.
Working across a range of industries.
Last Minute Kommunikation, keine Ahnung wer was macht.
ESPI is a great place for people that are self-reliant and have lots of self-initiative. Space is given to all to improve the way work happens. So the studio is particularly fit for people in the early stages of their career as they will get exposed to lots of different projects and disciplines. It is also possible to grow responsibilities, regardless of the seniority.
The company is undergoing a positioning transformation which doesn't always make it easy for people that seek stability to have a clear sense of direction
Improve employee retention
flexible hours and few overtime (if so time gets compensated)
Very much depending on how much each person initiates growth and learning initiatives but yes all possible if one asks
Your colleagues are the best part of the job. Lots of talented and fun people that make the place enjoyable to work in and inspiring
Beautiful open space office. All necessary hardware and software is provided
Not enough women in leading positions
Due to its longstanding history and reputation the company works with high profile companies
Some great people, high potential.
arrogant, ignorant and uncreative designers, as an intern I was really just an intern doing stuff the designers dont want to do, the agency tries to be creative but its actually not really...
I recognised most of the people I have worked with already left the company! I hope that most of the stuff have written here changed since then. It can be a cool, inspiring and creative place but unfortunately the people I and other interns have worked with made the time there really bad :/ .
The designers let us really feel we are "just" interns. They did not talk to us, didn't wanted to listen to us and just gave is jobs no one of them wanted to do. Most of the designers (who already left the company) were really arrogant and treated the interns like we are air.
Most of the interns did not have anything to do for months, but no one cared. Some interns even shortened their internship because they really did not like it to work there.
The company tries to be cool, and there are also some really great people (!!) but the designers (which left the company) did not talk to you if you were not cool enough, and give you shitty work. I was also shocked by the quality of some projects....
Unfortunately, I did not learned anything during my 6 month internship at edenspiekermann, like most of the others. I was really excited to work there but afterwards I was even questioning my future design carrier thinking about to work at a place like this. But fortunately, the experiences I have made afterwards in other agencies where totally different :)
The image of the company is really good and the name is well known in the design industry because of the founder Erik Spiekermann.
Even as an interns you really felt that the atmosphere in this agency was not really good. Some people did not talk to others ad treated them like air. But there were also some really great, inspiring people, which I was really happy to meet.
cool office, good coffee, nice inspiration talks
As a designer you have a buddy, who cares for you if there are any problems etc. but actually, the buddy of me and some other interns didn't care at all...
no
Nichts?
