The people and culture. Definitely that's what makes working here the best.
People here are just incredible to work with.
The 40 hour week is well respected. There will be some more intense days and some more relaxed ones. Private time is private time.
It's a growing startup, so there's a lot of space for growth. You have to work for it for sure, but rising to the occasion and giving your best will help you build a great career here.
Beers after work, and great in/on-sites happen often - this keeps us all well connected and helps maintain relationships between coworkers.
Management is pretty transparent, and Slack is used as the main communication channel, so you can always stay up to date on all topics.
Everyone here is equal and is rated on their work and contribuition.
You never stop learning and there are plenty of super smart people to learn from.
Great company, high learning curve, great international team, a lot of support from colleagues and team events
Nothing bad, salaries could be higher for the amount of work that is done
Salary can be better but social benefits are good.
Benefits:
- Personal/Professional development budget + 5 days off a year
- Gym offers
- 90 days abroad working
- 28 days vacation
- flexible working (from home or in the office)
- German classes
- State of the art hardware and software
- Free drinks, fruit, snacks and coffee
Wer eine 35 Stunden Woche will, sollte woanders hingehen.
Keep up the good leadership!
Good things: very open comfortable atmosphere. You can easily talk with anyone openly share your thoughs, problems. Express yourself in a way you like. Not much of bureocracy, hierarchy is pretty flat. I'd say people are most valuable resource here. Many are very experienced. Majority made a shift from corporations to a startup consciously. Almost noone has the "I am a star" attitude. Dogs, beer and nerfguns in the office are the normality. English is main language. Noone expects that you were any good with German although most of the current team are locals.
We claim that we are a tech company. But current setup is not enough to call yourself a truly tech startup. You simply need 2x more developers to move in a pace you want. Current setup forces almost everyone to combine roles and do a lot of tasks that can be done by juniors.
Think of more benefits to provide. Bigger quieter office, some more perks that you can touch and feel. Food, transport, pensions, cars, discounts, bonuses - anything in that direction is missing now.
Healthy, friendly. Conflicts are rare. Happens, as in any place but usually solved fast.
I guess it is a match, yes. We are young, growing and ambitious startup with all typical problems of growth.
Not the strongest point. Many people work harder and longer than average and that is considered as normal.
This is tricky. You have unlimited opportunities as enterpreneur. Suggest initiatives and introduce team, be proactive and things might happen. Do not expect promotion every 2 year for everyone though. There is no such thing as a planned promotion here.
Salary is ok. Will not let you buy sportcars but you would never starve as well. The downside is a lack of benefits. Current office has no cantine. No transport subcidy is offered. There is a gym discount but it is not a big thing. No discounts for shops. No additional pension payments etc. No leased cars (I've heard about leased bikes though). So lets say currently you get good flat salary + iphone of your choice + telekom mobile contract and thats it.
I would not say that we think about it much.
I wouldnt call my colleagues friends, but they are very good co-workers. Open-minded, hard-working, ambitious.
We dont have many. But older ones still have young hearts.
Management here is awesome. They are smart, sensitive to what is happening in the company, they listen to feedback and change rapidly. On of the best management teams I had. Not everyone has a solid people manager background but all of them are decent people you can openly talk to. They are still acting like humans, not gods like in other companies.
Computers are top notch. Current office fascilities are poor. It is pretty small for the team as we are growing. I hope with the new office things get easier.
Pretty good. There might be isolated cases but nothing critical
No issues here. Everyone is welcome.
50/50. Some tasks are a challenge, but there is a solid share of routine things as well. Good thing is most of the time you can choose or suggest a way to proceed
Open feedback culture, great development possibilities, great teammates, high added value for customers, cool product, very strong development after some bumpy times in the beginning of 2018.
For me, there are no real contras.
Speed or upcoming growth and change could be too much for some -> Startup culture
Keep encouraging team to take responsibility and delegate more stuff
Start Up with fast growth and lots of ambition and with lots of room for individual development, which is as well actively supported by the company.
Often quite demanding and as well stressful, but on the other hand, everyone can contribute to the success and can have a big impact on results.
Very good feedback routines with managers.
Very international and professional team, with lots of great people, always happy to help, to share knowledge and as well to learn.
After some Ups and Downs in the past, the development of the Start Up is very stable & strong.
Will be interesting to see the next growth steps of the company.
Office is becoming more and more crowded and the result is an increasing noise level. Sometimes hard to concentrate. At least they are looking for a bigger office, still not yet any result.
Also sometimes the management is not focussing enough and opening too many topics in parallel.
It's a Start Up, so...
Office is becoming too crowded
Great product, great vision. Lot's of room to have a real impact.
fast growing start up with an innovative and unique product, modern tech stack, flat hierarchies, cool line managers, lots of space for growth and autonomy, super international team, English is the company language
There has been the usual teething problems with fast growing start ups, such as processes not being defined, the office getting too crowded, but they are working on it.
