Lots of talk & manufactured positivity — with no real career development or fair financial recognition.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
During my time there, salary increases were delayed, and employees were repeatedly informed that pay increases were planned. At the time of writing this review, however, they had still not been implemented.
I also experienced limited career development opportunities, as progression was mainly tied to taking on additional responsibilities without corresponding increases in compensation.
Based on employee feedback and survey results I was aware of, concerns around compensation, career development, and transparency seemed to be recurring themes. In leadership meetings I attended, these concerns were primarily met with internal marketing and values-driven initiatives rather than concrete management action.
I also observed high turnover during my time at ESMT, which left teams understaffed for extended periods and increased workloads. Recruiting externally also appeared challenging, which I associated in part with compensation that I understood, for many of the positions I was familiar with, to be below market.
To me, there is a striking disconnect between ESMT’s external focus on advising others on leadership and the leadership/management challenges observed internally.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The atmosphere is generally strained, as issues are not resolved openly.
Image
From my time working at EMST, the existing structure appeared to favor long-standing employees, while the organization struggled to modernize its management approach and create an environment in which newer employees felt valued and saw development opportunities. As a result, I observed that many new hires chose to leave after a relatively short period.
Work-Life-Balance
Good, but not enough to offset the broader structural issues.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Career paths and development opportunities were not transparent and were not consistently followed through on.
Gehalt/Benefits
In my experience, compensation was below market levels compared with similar employers.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Team spirit exists, but it is weakened by ongoing overload.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
From what I observed, long-standing employees appeared to have benefited from internal promotions, while newer employees often came to question whether key appointments fully reflected the professional and leadership requirements of the roles. This is particularly apparent during the organization's transformation efforts, as the demands placed on key positions and leadership roles increases.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
The longer I stayed, the more apparent the incompetence in leadership and management became.
Kommunikation
Internal communication lacks transparency.
Gleichberechtigung
Compensation feels lopsided, as pay does not seem to be primarily tied to competence and impact, but rather to tenure and internal connections.
