I had a job interview with Focused Energy after being contacted on LinkedIn. The interview was scheduled for a Friday at 5:30 PM, but the recruiter didn’t join until 5:47 PM. Given the time difference between San Francisco and Germany, this should have been during regular working hours. During the interview, I was only asked organizational questions like salary expectations, willingness to travel, and availability—nothing more. The conversation ended after 20 minutes. I could have spent my time more productively, and the company certainly didn’t leave a good impression. Thanks for nothing.
I agree that marketing has the purpose of selling and promoting the company to the outside world. However, if there is a huge discrepancy between what is communicated outside and how it looks on the inside, it feels like masquerade.
The company in my opinion considered itself as visionary and open for creative ideas. However, implementing these ideas was done reluctantly at best. It seemed as if making plans was encouraged but executing plans wasn't.
I was able to learn new things but not in my field of expertise. In my own field of expertise, I was kept low and had little to no chance of improvement.
There was not much guidance from my supervisor. While this leaves space for individual freedom, it also gives the impression of not being cared about.
Having no work, even for multiple weeks, was an ordinary situation.
Communication between management and staff was poor at best. Topics of high interest were often announced prominently and then vanished into nothingness soon after. Communication between colleagues was also often limited. In general, a lot of individuals was doing their stuff without knowing what the others were working on.
Btw: It was interesting to read what we were able to accomplish according to social media. Even more, when it is not communicated internally.
The salary was at average level.
Bad management Not professional team.
