Overall not too bad, but expect a big gap between image and reality
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
International environment, dynamic, nice colleagues
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Leadership, micromanagement practices, poor internal communication, no idea of a company culture and very few possibilities for further education of staff
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Changing the managing director would be a huge improvement. Offer a leadership course for directors, and improve internal communication.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The colleagues are friendly and cooperative, and both the staff and student body are wonderfully international, giving the environment a dynamic feel. However, the leadership style is old-fashioned and prone to micromanaging, a tendency that's felt at every level and weighs heavily on the overall climate. Unfortunately, there's a real disconnect between how the school operates internally and the image it presents to the outside. The very approaches it teaches are not practiced internally.
Kommunikation
There is a lot of space to improve internal communication
Kollegenzusammenhalt
As mentioned above: colleagues are generally very cooperative, but the higher you go in the hierarchy, more difficult cooperation gets.
Work-Life-Balance
I believe this one depends a lot on the team you are working in, but the workload seems to be rather high everywhere.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Most directors could really use some leadership training
Interessante Aufgaben
Really depends on the team and how much space you get for your own ideas. In some teams micromanagement is real and this really affects the tasks and how much you get to enjoy them
Arbeitsbedingungen
Many tools we use are old and slow and very time consuming. Kitchen is too small for so many people and often dirty
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Supposedly following sustainable practices but reality is far from that.
Gehalt/Benefits
Not too bad, not too good
Image
As mentioned above, there's a big discrepancy between how the school presents itself externally and how things actually work internally. It's also worth noting that teaching quality and student experience tend to be rather positive, but working in administration is a very different story.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Growth possibilities are very limited. Many teams do not have budget for staff training. We can take part in Erasmus exchange for staff but there are very few spots
