In Central Europe: Practically non-existent. After the peak in 2022, the team became smaller and the collaboration became siloed to an extent where you feel rather like a hired freelancer instead of an actual team member. The frequent office relocations were not a positive contributor, let alone the absolute lack of a local administration (office management, HR, finance, legal etc.).
With EMEA: Similar impression, albeit marginally better thanks to a mostly collaborative, experienced team, regardless of the department.
With the global departments: A hit or miss, depending on who you got in touch with (US, Canada, India). Since the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) in 2023, the resulting passive strategy on the investors' part at that time and the corresponding multiple reorgs at Highspot, once smooth processes paid tribute to red tape and occasional misunderstandings.
Locally, sales enablement as a niche is next to unknown in Central Europe. If you need to explain the niche first, then you can tell that the product does not sell itself.
Even among the existing (and churned) clients worldwide, the times changed in favour of a toolbox of multiple solutions that are excellent in their domain instead of investing in a central platform that gets overtaken by numerous direct and indirect competitors by the feature (incl. AI).
The first out of only two strengths that remained prevalent. However, this is rather the merit of a mixture between sales having had trouble to attract significant accounts for years, a predictable book of business, the option to work remotely and the FlexLeave policy.
As mentioned earlier, career advancements were pretty much a matter of the right book of business and internal connections. If you didn't have a Forbes Global 2000 corporation under your belt and no proper 360° tracking of your impact, then shame on you.
The reorgs may have changed the titles of most staying employees over the years, but a horizontal promotion still doesn't qualify for a promotion.
Besides, new German-speaking hires were being increasingly recruited in the UK after the reorgs. ADRs and AEs still may be the exception, but who knows for how long.
Lastly, the withdrawal of any self-learning resources (esp. LinkedIn Learning) and the new, vaguely redefined and sales-oriented career level paths for all teams in 2025 (GTM and non-GTM) were the final nails in the coffin.
The last out of only two strengths that remained prevalent. However, it was a merit of my strong performance before 2023, when the recognition mechanisms were still in place.
A minus for the stock options, though, since an IPO became virtually unrealistic.
A mixed bag.
Business travels were subject to a prudent reasoning, which is a plus.
Pension plans were introduced pretty late, although they had quickly become obsolete, since the job security was not the highest since 2023.
In terms of individual wellbeing, most options were quietly removed.
A huge minus for refusing the full inflationary adjustment in 2023 with a pathetic justification, although it was an incentive covered by the German government.
In constant deterioration since 2023, regardless of the region.
Throughout multiple quarters in a row, entire teams were either reduced, redefined or entirely dissolved. The result: Teams with a solid headcount were split up, isolating those who used to work well together, while some of the newly formed teams consist either of 1 person or a handful of people for an entire region. Red tape galore, whenever you needed an AE or CSM to catch up on an account.
Additionally, attempts to blindly inject the competitive sales mindset across the company served as another catalyst to the worsening state of belonging.
Alright, even though it was not a decisive factor in any other aspect of my experience.
On a direct managerial level, much was left to be desired to promote my career in a meaningful way for a variety of reasons, including multiple maternal leaves and the overall weak impact of the Central European unit on the revenue and company image. Therefore, my progression and accomplishments were not tracked properly, along with my potentials to thrive. Weekly 1:1 project status meetings, quarterly check-ins and vague annual reviews were definitely not the way to go.
The managerial levels above experienced a transformation towards a more corporate, top-down anonymous style of leadership. Logically, this hampered the lower-level management's ambitions to improve the situation or to retain Highspot's former strengths.
Alright on paper. Especially the flexibility between remote work and the presence in the office was appreciated, along with the Apple equipment and an additional budget for complementary devices.
Globally, frank enough to not sugarcoat the consequences of the events from 2023 until today. However, the staff has never really recovered from the blows that the frequent reorgs gave over the years. Therefore, the morale from the better days has never been regained. The communicated corporate vision, becoming more vague by the year, weakened the sense of purpose.
The unit in Central Europe is a mere recipient of news from the HQs in the UK and the US. Strategically, it has never been a significant part of the strategic vision, let alone of the revenue machine.
Once again, fair-play took a significant nose dive from 2023, be it the insufficiently justified layoffs during the reorgs, the substitution of a scale-up culture with a corporate structure or mysterious promotions (or lack thereof).
This has only increased the doubts about the sense of good performance and positive customer references, where internal connections apparently kept overshadowing them.
Since the Central Europe unit remained weak in acquiring accounts and building a local book of business, the main priority revolved around managing accounts from the Northern Europe, US or ANZ portfolio.
Unless you were the one coordinating the projects from the start, it was your duty to reactively put out any fire for months that the predecessors left behind. Just after that you could gain the space to work towards actual value-adding activities.
However, because the 360° tracking of the individual performance and impact became dramatically flawed since 2023, it really made one question the sense of maintaining a strong performance.

This is the best team I have ever worked with.
Anyone, really anyone, no matter what position, you can ask for help, ask questions or get advice.
Starting with onboarding. Never before have I been introduced in such a structured and focused way.
The goals are realistic and achievable.
No matter what, Highspot has your back.
Yes, there is a lot of work and a lot is expected, but in return there is a recharge Friday once a month and between Christmas and New year's eve you have time off throughout the company (without vacation days!)
Grow is lived everywhere
Neutral
One Team - great people
Neutral - super young team. Average age between 25-55
Great MD - role model, always leads by example, trusts, expects, pushes, praises and is always by your side when you need him.
Mainly remote and/or WeWork space
There are different communicators in each team - but that's what makes it tick. Inclusion and belonging are very important here and, above all, they are lived.
A cultural mix - inclusion and belonging are lived out
I have never been taken out of my comfort zone so constantly - here you can, may and should grow. Every day is new and very exciting.
