Analyst Short-term Trading Spain (m/f/d) in Renewable Energies

As an Analyst Short-term Trading, you will be instrumental in expanding Encavis’ power trading business into the Spanish market. You will set up the initial trading infrastructure for our market entry in 2026 and develop profitable strategies for the Spanish Day-ahead, Intraday, and Ancillary Services Markets. Leveraging your expertise in statistical analysis and stochastic modeling, you will collaborate with technology partners to design and implement algo-trading strategies and monitor daily trading performance. Working in a dynamic, innovative, and international environment, you will use your strong data skills and project management experience to drive initiatives forward and make a significant contribution to our ambitious growth plan.

Tasks

  • You’ll support the team in expanding Encavis’ power trading business into the Spanish market.
  • Together with local partners, you’ll set up the initial trading infrastructure for our market entry in 2026.
  • Developing profitable strategies for the Spanish Day-ahead, Intraday, and Ancillary Services Markets will be a key part of your role.
  • You’ll collaborate with technology partners to design and implement algo-trading strategies.
  • Monitoring and overseeing daily trading performance will be part of your ongoing responsibilities.

Profile

  • You hold a degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, physical sciences, or a comparable field.
  • At least one year of professional experience in short-term trading in Spain gives you a strong foundation for this role.
  • Statistical analysis and the application of stochastic and fundamental models are part of your skill set; knowledge of meteorological and/or commodity market data is a plus.
  • Working with data comes naturally—you can extract and manipulate data from APIs, CSV files, and databases, and you bring solid knowledge of SQL, R, and Python.
  • You have gained hands-on experience in project management and know how to keep initiatives on track.
  • You have a growth mindset, take ownership of projects, and value collaboration with team members and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English enable you to operate successfully in an international environment.
