Big changes after top management change in May 2021.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

There is a permanent uncertainty since January 2022.
The company continues to sell various Business units (in total 3, in the time frame October 2021-August 2022). Many people are asking which is the next Business unit to be sold, and and how it will impact their job.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The new management sold 2 Business units in October 2021 (Interior systems & Light Duty cables), and opened a second Germany office in Dortmund (January 2022).
In the new company context (about 5.000 employees less, globally), all the comments on this platform before these dates, are obsolete.

Kommunikation

Permanent uncertainty and rumors about the next BU to be sold (in August 2022, Kongsberg sold a 3rd Business unit: Electronics business in Canada).

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Very good relationship within the people of the old guard, but many new people arrived in 2022, during the big changes.

Work-Life-Balance

The company practiced trust - Vertrauensarbeitszeit (no badge, or any type of time control), which allows flexibility to schedule work and life.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

The new top management brought in a complete new line of managers.
Time is too short for an evaluation, particularly with the recent radical changes.

Interessante Aufgaben

In the past, the company allowed individual responsibility to manage proactively your job, within the various business units (also job rotation was possible).

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Overall very good relationships with all colleagues.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Before the 2 divestures in October 2021, there were big offices, with good individual office space and nice working conditions.
Starting March 2022, most of the offices in Hallbergmoos went to Lear Corporation (new owner of the Division Interior systems).
The few remaining offices in Kongsberg are not individual anymore, but must be booked in advance and used by anybody.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

In the past, Kongsberg hired (and paid well) highly prepared people, with multicultural background.
The result was an outstanding group of about 100 people, coming from about 20 countries.
To check if the new management will follow the same HR strategy, in the new smaller group.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The situation was different within different divisions. Job rotation was possible.
I never did any type of external training, beyond the training on the job.
