Have you ever wanted to feel overqualified for your job? Work for Learnship!
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Jobticket.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Everything mentioned above.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
I won't give any advice to the management, because I'm sure they don't really care. However, if you are applying for a job at Learnship, please do it only as a means to an end.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
You will be treated nicely the first couple of months, but as you spend more and more time working for them you will start noticing unpleasant things. There is a massive amount of power play, disrespect and manipulation coming from the higher strata. Criticism is taken personally and it is not rare that your superiors will try to trick you with emotionally manipulative language or passive aggressiveness, if not with plain insincerity. There is a very clear hierarchy, with people higher at the top treating their subordinates as doormats.
Kommunikation
Great efforts are made to maintain a facade of open, face-to-face, honest communication, but nothing farther from the truth. As mentioned before, you will be expected to go on with the show and have a positive attitude even if rocks are raining on your head. If you disagree with something, they will either ignore you but pretend to take note of your feedback or take it personally or use straw mans / emotional manipulation (I'm doing the best for you, etc.) / similar tactics to get you to comply. The dismissal of an entire team in a different office was handled casually and as a minor nuisance in a company meeting.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
One of the very few good things that Learnship has is its employees. They are mostly friendly and good people, but they are under such pressure that they end up fighting each other and blaming each other for the errors of a faulty system. Also, for some reason Learnship loves to brag about having a very young team, but everyone with a bit of experience will know that this is a red flag (young people = unaware of unfair treatment, easier to dispose of).
Work-Life-Balance
Disastrous. Your 1-hour lunch break is not paid, so you will spend 9 hours in the office (who would have thought, almost a quarter into the 21st century). Colleagues who have children or who live far away are frequently forced to do overtime, shorten their breaks and basically juggle their hours so that they can come in or leave early if they have any obligations. If you do overtime because you want to leave earlier on Friday evening to go to a concert, you will be met with a frown or a temper tantrum. Funnily enough, we were "asked" to do overtime to compensate for circumstances that were not our fault, such as time lost commuting during transportation strikes or being unable to use our computers during tech maintenance sessions. There is no flexibility, and the privilege of working from home is reserved to only a few from the higher strata.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I haven't worked anywhere where there was more abuse of power, competitive attitudes, constant manipulation and disrespect from superiors than there is in Learnship. From twisting your words, to obsessive micromanagement, to being on the phone throughout an entire meeting, to questioning your trustworthiness (some employees requested being able to work from home every now and then, and they were met with a "I'm not sure you would be as productive working from home"), to turning a blind eye to several cases of sexual harrassment in the office (the offender still worked for Learnship when I left)...
Interessante Aufgaben
The worktime is monstruous, through all departments.
Gleichberechtigung
As I mentioned before, several cases of sexual harrassment were not persecuted. Colleagues with children have to juggle hours and do overtime to make it work. They place a big emphasis on racial and cultural diversity, but they couldn't actually care less.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There is barely anyone over the age of 35.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Not bad, but would not recommend if you are a wheelchair user or have reduced mobility and want to work in-house.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
I'm not sure about this one, also because there is absolutely no transparency in these matters. I am giving them 2 starts because how can a company be socially conscious if they treat their employees and trainers like this?
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
The salary is ridiculous. Everyone, literally everyone is overqualified for their position but they are paid the minimum wage. It is no secret that all the importance is placed on profit and employees treated slightly better than human ladders or sentient furniture.
Image
The image that all employees have of this company is of one that does not care about them.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There is no possibility for expansion or personal growth in this company. My advice if you come from abroad is that you use the job to learn the national language and then look for something better on the side.
