Bad HR and product practices. Absolutely can't recommend.

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Work-life balance is very good. No one cares if you work or not.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Shaddy HR practices
- Terrible product development practices (it shows, the product is a mess)
- Organizational structure is a mess. PMs have to validate with 10 other people to make a simple change.
- Product is buggy and full of tech debt.
- The pace of work is so slow that one could possibly have 2 full time jobs and still be a high performing employee at OLX. It's great for people who don't want to work!

Interessante Aufgaben

The platform is old and full of tech debt. It's veeeery slow and uninstering to work with it.

Product management practices are a joke. Most product managers are in fact project managers. A looooot of the PMs and UX designers NEVER talked to customers in their whole OLX tenure. The research department actively discourages PMs and designers to speak to customers and put all sorts of barriers for this not to happen. If you are a good PM that understand stuff described in Inspired and Continuous Discovery Habits, DO NOT JOIN. Fun fact: most PMs and UX designers in OLX never read those books.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

HR has some very shady practices. For example: salaries are raised only once a year. The raise happens in April, but it is only communicated in June. So employees receive the difference between their old salary from April, May and June in the June salary. I received a letter showing a 24% increase in my salary (my salary was super outdated thanks to another shady HR practice). This letter was signed by my manager. But since I left in July, OLX HR decided to NOT PAY my salary increase. So, basically, they scammed me of my April, May and June salary.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Career growth only happens after staying many years in the organization and rubbing elbows with key people. This is so bad that I applied to an internal leadership position, got refused and NEVER GOT ANY FEEDBACK about why. When I approached the hiring manager to get some feedback he didn't reply, just ignored.
