I like Rise — otherwise, I wouldn’t have stayed for 10 years. What I like most are the people; they are what make Rise what it is. I also enjoy the way we work. It’s exciting, and you constantly learn new things. Elsewhere, work often feels like the same old routine.
Well, what can I say? Of course, there are also negative aspects. I sometimes get frustrated with colleagues who show little willingness to learn. There are few or inadequate feedback opportunities here. I also get frustrated with how IT is treated when other departments are under pressure — a harsh tone often emerges in those situations.
There is definitely room for improvement here. I can see that efforts are being made, but there isn’t a real plan in place. I’ve previously worked in large American companies where training was practically mandatory. At Rise, you have to proactively ask for professional development, and even then you might only be offered a Udemy course or a book. I haven’t personally experienced proper face-to-face training with a coach yet, though some of my colleagues have.
The colleagues here do a fantastic job – they’re the heart and soul of Rise and the reason we survive the stressful times (and even laugh through some of them).
I can't tell. Never heard something good/bad
The bigger the company, the harder it gets to focus on each individual. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more empathy, or shorter paths to get answers on things like the possibility of working from home. I’ll admit, a “Return to Office” policy does annoy me — but I can also understand that such measures are put in place because some people have taken advantage of the company’s goodwill. Whenever I’ve approached HR or management with a concern, I’ve been heard about 90% of the time.
Sure, one could always ask for more, but I can’t really say I’m dissatisfied. Sometimes, it feels like compensation isn’t based purely on performance, but rather on who asks the most, sells themselves best, or applies pressure. I wish there were more transparency and a system to guide expectations.
I think Rise is very socially conscious, sometimes even to a fault. In the effort to please everyone, a bit of chaos can arise. For example, our office managers sometimes have to run to the door multiple times a day to receive personal packages.
We could turn off a few more monitors to save electricity, but otherwise, I think Rise is genuinely caring. For instance, I remember that a long time ago, all Nestlé products were removed from our offices because the company acted unethically.
In my colleagues I trust.
Colleagues are colleagues, regardless of how old they are
We’ve been on this journey together for a long time, and I can recall only a few moments when we didn’t see eye to eye. Sure, you can sometimes sense their stress levels, but that just makes us human.
My managers at Rise aren’t suit-and-tie executives, and they may not have formal training in management or HR. Occasionally, you notice that — but they’re authentic, and they genuinely care about the well-being of their team. They take their responsibilities as company and department leaders very seriously.
I don't like the coffee, I would like to have a locker. Other than that its nice. We have drinks, we have sweets. We get ice cream in summer. What else do you need?
In the end, it always comes down to communication – or the lack of it. There’s plenty of room for improvement here. It can be frustrating at times, but honestly, it’s human nature, and I’ve seen it in every company I’ve ever worked for.
Colleagues are colleagues, regardless of how they identify
I’ve never been bored here. If you want to, you can really experience something in IT at this company. If you don’t, you can just as easily spend your days resetting passwords. It’s up to you — but I’ve never encountered a bigger playground in my professional life.

health
toxic environment - physical and mental stress
no respect for health:
- corona rules ignored. quarantine didn't take place even with positive test results
- overtime (they don't care about the 11 hour rest period)
- very few people endure the mental pressure crap without antidepressants or alcohol (alc is for free here)
payment
- lower than low
- they don't care
- time tracking software doesn't work (subtracts lunch hours even in case of vacation or sick days, haha)
- they count only part of overtime
work atmo
- teamwork, better don't rely on it
- pedantic work control
- management doesn't care about problems
- the most artists dare to say anything because of fear of never being able to gain a foothold in the connected industry (may be also the reason for the lack of reviews here) and as a lead/senior, however, you don't want to take the problems of others to management
- constant change of junior staff is annoying. ok, at least they are cheap and do the work that nobody wants to do. even if they do it more wrong than right. it's probably like everything in this company the constant question of (how low can you go) with the costs.

Sehr viele Freelancer, also immer neue Gesichter.
Immer wechselnde spannende Projekte!
