Since most of the team is young, the environment is pleasant and energetic.
Where do I even begin? Unsurprisingly, the root of the problem lies with the management. While the company's business model of spending as little as possible and selling cheap may be viable, it’s not sustainable without showing appreciation for the people who actually keep things running.
Employees often work overtime, yet their voices go unheard. Everything seems to require the CEO’s final approval. Even if he doesn’t explicitly demand that kind of reverence, the culture suggests otherwise, as if we’re expected to silently accept that 'he knows best'.
What about everyone else who helped build the company? Why does nearly everyone leave after two years? Perhaps it's because top management operates like an exclusive clique, uninterested in the opinions of others. Add to that the lack of real senior roles or managers with actual decision making power.
How many times does it need to be said, top management should start listening to their employees. Acting like you've discovered America doesn't make it true. Others did that a long time ago, and that's okay. And sorry to burst the bubble, but employees shouldn't feel grateful just to work for Solactive, Solactive should be grateful to have them
The atmosphere feels neutral, most people just focus on their own tasks rather than the company itself. Yet, somehow, the company continues to perform well
Ask upper management, and they’ll tell you they’re the best in the world. Ask me, and I would say, they’re okayish
Some departments appear to have it easy, while others are clearly under pressure... for example, receiving emails on Sundays doesn’t exactly scream work-life balance
Nothing at all. Most people leave at 2 years, to find something better.
Overall, the team is young, international, and brings a positive mindset to work. With only a few exceptions, you could say most people act professionally
Overall, I believe they're part of the reason the company doesn’t progress further. They act like they know everything but rarely listen. Their plan is unclear, yet they expect results as if we could pull rabbits out of hats.
Modern open-space offices in a good Frankfurt location, with good technical equipment, but the kitchen and restrooms often fall short in terms of hygiene. Clearly, they dont want to pay for a cleaner to come more often. The snacks that they promise, not only you have to pay for them, but they are almost sold out.
Communication between departments is surprisingly smooth. People are generally willing to help, even those working from across the globe
For the industry, it's decent. The benefits are okay, but beyond the paycheck, there’s not much else the company offers. They make you pay a christmas present, when they should be the ones giving you one.
There are only a few women in the company, and none in upper management, which makes the lack of gender diversity especially noticeable at the top
The industry is quite niche, and likely more interesting to those who come from a similar field
nothing
Management in Berlin
Listen to your employees and be more open to change. Just that we always did it like this, doesn't mean that that's the best way to do it.
Poor management, no trust in employees and no team spirit. Top management is talking a lot about people and culture and there are frequent questionnaires to collect feedback though nothing happens.
not known outside of financial indexing
None, mainly because of the stress at work and the constant fear of getting fired.
no clear development strategy for employees
under average
Team spirit is heavily dependent on the team (core teams, former primervoto are great though not very welcoming for new joiners)
Company is very young (average probably in early 30s)
I would add 0 stars to the Berlin management if possible... reading management books only does not make you a good manager...
Poor and old hardware, no clear strategy regarding cloud usage, though office in Berlin is much better than the other ones.
No clear communication on expected outcome, unwillingness to change and improve existing processes. Promises made during interview have not been kept.
Old technology, no processes for QA and no coherent requirement gathering. No place to be if you want to develop your skills in terms of technology and processes.
Chronically understaffed, no career opportunities
toxic work environment where everyone is just focused on themselves
It appears that people feel uncomfortable
Unknown outside finance
Tasks are very time consuming, very often above 12h per day
Below average
Not existent
Depends on team. I have the impression everyone is working for their own interests
Average is slightly above 30
High pressure
Depends on the team
Solactive's branch value itself says everything. Being on top for the decades into German Index marketing deserves a huge appreciation. However at the same time, the higher management is easily approachable and always ready to listen for any improvement or suggestion.
Company is already onto CloudNative path.
A healthy work culture surrounded with co-operative people. They support flexible working hours and hybrid work mode.
Work life balance is considered top on priority for each individuals
I have found many technical expertise in every team
The supervisors are always open to listen any suggestion on any technical/non tech topics
International employees feels equally treated
the company is super open minded when it comes to changes. Solactive will support you if you bring up new ideas on how to improve or automate existing processes.
Your opinion counts and I was always encouraged to tell the truth and give honest feedback (even when the feedback wasn‘t very positive)
Senior Management knows exactly where the weak spots of the company are and yet they will rather let >30% of the employees leave the company each year than to address and work on their issues
-Hire more people!! Don’t let one person do the work of 3 full time employees.
-Improve your onboarding process, I felt quite left alone when I joined the company
-Make sure that your employees don’t work 12h a day
Micromanagement at its best, senior managers talking poorly about each other behind each others backs
Impressive client range
Endless unpaid overtime
Great within the team, aweful when it came to the relationship with leaders
The average age is 32, not many elderly employees
The reason why I left the company
Pressure, tight deadlines and unflexible working hours due to dependence of stock exchange’s trading hours
Ok, but below average in Frankfurt
The company itself is incredibly interesting and so are most of the tasks. If you can handle the pressure and lack of freedom then this is your place to be - learning curve throughout my time at Solactive has been impressive
It is very flexible with the working hours and the offices are located very central.
I think it is a good employer for interns.
They do not hear the criticism and the management believe they know it all and best. If you have so many people leaving and so few staying for more than 2 years, you should realize you are doing something wrong.
Company should stopped being micromanaged by top management, a lot of people are leaving. Trust your employees!!! The average tenure is 2 years, that speaks very poorly of the management. They should aim to stop behaving as a 40 people FinTech and try to move towards a established organization structure.
The working environment is getting worse with the time. The management board does not seem to understand and self reflect on how bad the current situation is. Lots of employee turnover.
very limited possibilities
is okay, but for the finance branch is below average
This is quite okay, but a lot of gossips and speaking behind peoples back
there are barely any
The worst management I have ever experienced, they do not hear their employees and seem to not care about the consequences of their decisions. Most of the management board are friends of the top management.
There used to be town halls each quarter when things were going well, now we have not received any information in this format for many months already.
All the management positions are occupied by men except for HR
Very boring and repetitive
There is a very nice and relaxed working atmosphere here with super nice colleagues.
Unfortunately, no real attention is paid to how long individuals work. However, activities are organized by the company to support the work-life balance.
The cohesion within the teams and also across teams is simply outstanding! There really is a unique team spirit here.
Every employee in our international staffed team is treated equally and supported here.
The flat hierarchy means that there are no superiors here in the usual sense. Colleagues at higher levels, all the way up to the head, are all very nice and approachable. Despite the rapidly growing number of employees, it's like a big family here.
Great attention is paid to occupational safety. The technical equipment is really up to date
Also during the corona time the communication is on a very high level.
Every employee in our international staffed team is treated equally and supported here.
Especially now in the technical change there are many interesting tasks. The technical management is extremely interested in constantly expanding the tech stack.
Interesting business concept.
Long working hours with high pressure.
Management should try more to improve the working environment.
Fast growing company and recognized by international clients.
Heavy workload and long working hours.
Workshops with external coaches to improve the personal skillset.
Salary is fine but long working hours.
Great colleagues with international background.
Great mix between younger and older colleagues.
Management could do a better job in improving the atmosphere and it does not tackle the problems that exists for years.
Company offers to work from home and it works very well.
Management tries to improve the communication.
Working with international clients around the globe.
Direkte Einbindung in Team, interessante und anspruchsvolle Aufgaben, Weiterbildung, After Work Events, Bezahltes Fitness Studio, Benefits, neues Office
Teils interne Kommunikation

Highly helpful colleagues, good working atmosphere
One of the best and future leading index providers in terms of innovation and reputation in the market
It is not a 9 to 5 job, but it depends on the team. In general it is not about face time but about if you get your worked done to meet certain dead lines
Courses on time management, SQL or Python and alike are offered during working hours. CFA and alike is not directly supported
Salaries are in general not disclosed. You might start with above average but increases are good if you perform well . Bonus payments and its determinants are somewgat intransparent though
Many charity/donation/social events. I doubt that other conpsnies take this topic as seriously
Certainly the main pro, better than in most other companies
Staff is rather young, so difficult to judge
Communication from management board good be improved, team heads are in general capable and decent persons
Sometimes the Management tries to save a few bugs on things where soending a bit more would make a huge benefit. In general the employee is well equipped with what is needed
Communication from management could be improved, but employees are in general updated regarding overall company goals
Never experienced any disadvantage for women. Performance matters
Very challenging, interesting and also changing task. However, that might differ between teams
So verdient kununu Geld.
