Verbesserungsvorschläge

Think about your responsibility as an employer and about a working monetization model before spending millions of dollars for nothing (like a second floor, that no one ever needed - but looks cool).
But most importantly: please never found a company again.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

It depends. Within the teams: awesome. With the founders: a lot of pressure, not empathy, no understanding.

Kommunikation

Worst ever, instead of transparent and honest communication, the founders mainly protect their ego and would never admit to being wrong. A lot of things were talked and decided behind peoples backs.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

"We're all in this together": experiencing something bad together really made people help and support each other a lot. There was a lot of understanding and support.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

I am referring to the founders and the solely white mid-aged man they hired as VPs.
The founders are very immature (they need to work out a lot in terms of personal development and leadership). Both groups: VPs and founders see the people working for StudySmarter as numbers that have to function - not as actual human beings (which is esp. sad from a so called "VP People" - who has managed TA teams, but doesn't really know anything about the human side of it). Also no background in german law - which led to a lot of issues in legal questions.
Leadership is one of the big founder weaknesses, they pretend to be empathetic, open and supportive but the daily actions don't match. They pretended to be open to opinions, but in the end it was always their opinion that was executed. They pretend to be empathetic, but fire people as soon as they show signs of burnout. They pretend to be supportive, but then tell you to not waste working hours on any training.

Gleichberechtigung

As mentioned above: upper management is only white men. That's also the only opinion they really respect. Women in leading positions brought up ideas which were only considered important when one of the men brought up the same thing.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

They don't have any of it. None of them even really cares about their purpose. It just sounds nice and attracts talent.
They were never aware of their responsibility for people or the environment. They are more than okay with underpaying and exploit people to be able to drive huge, expensive cars themselves.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Some people get a real good pay (men especially) but most people are underpayed. If they find a way to pay you less, they will "because it's your fault, if you don't have good negotiation skills".
