Modern, fresh & innovative but the toxic culture and dire market conditions are slowly killing the company.
What I like about the employer
Competitive benefits and modern working conditions (Home office, flexible working, job bike etc....)
What I dislike about the employer
Toxic and outdated management culture. The top 2 or 3 management layers are basically like a band of villains who make spurious decisions and assessments of people/ departments regardless of the facts. There's lots of back stabbing and gaslighting, it's really a company that makes good people do bad things.
Suggestions for improvement
Difficult to say, market conditions are brutal, senior management teams are trying their best but every 3-4 years there's a clear out because they have failed. I think the company is destined to be taken over by another and asset stripped. It's already owned by Fosun so they might do this themselves to save the brand and strip the company of all it's inefficient and inept structures/ people.
Working atmosphere
Top down management stucture, clique at the top decide almost everything. Nice people join the company though, on a positive note.
Communication
Board/ Management Team often change the strategy, turn 180 degrees or communicate inconsistently (e.g. middle/ senior management will occassionally be unceremoniously dismissed without any communication)
Collegiality
Good people join but a lot of good people leave as well
Work-Life Balance
Depends on the department but overall good policies in place
Leadership behavior
Can be very toxic
Interesting tasks
Committed to digitalization and a modern working environment
Equality
Fair
Interaction with older colleagues
Difficult for me to say, so 3 stars
Working conditions
Clear and structured working conditions and contracts also for 3rd party service providers or external contractors
Environmental and social responsibility
Lots of focus here but the industry is nearly as dirty as nuclear/ fossil fuel energy industry so it's mainly just green washing
Salary/Social benefits
Above average but I think only because I negotiated well, there are no defined wage bands so a lot of employees work for less than the industry average
Image
Great Brand image as far as I can tell
Career/Professional development
Depends on which department but overall not bad I would say.
