Arbeitsatmosphäre

There are strong hierarchies in many areas and contrary to the descriptions in many job advertisements. Micro-management is the order of the day here and there is no room for optimisation, freely according to the motto, we have always done that. The company's own managers tend to like to hear themselves talk. Few manage to listen to their staff at this point.

Kommunikation

Communication from top management is satisfactory to good. A positive aspect is that there are regular rounds from top management for employees, in which dedicated questions can also be posted.

Communication, starting from middle management (head ofs and below) is abysmal. Debriefings hardly take place. Predefined strategies from management are transferred 1:1 to the teams without translating this to the own teams. IT roadmaps for the own teams are also non-existent.

An absolute no-go in software development and further development are changes made to production platforms or applications without prior coordination with the parties concerned. As a result, there are no clear processes and responsibilities that are transparent. But to be honest, no one cares, as long as you fix the in house produced incidents.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Good in your own team, as long as everything runs according to the team lead. You can always find someone to ask. At the same time, very few have extensive knowledge about the applications or businesses they support, have perhaps grown historically into their positions and are dependent on their providers, who have to explain every little thing as if they were the product owners.

Work-Life-Balance

There are many ways to organise your working time. For example, there is the possibility to work from abroad, remotely, hybrid or on-site, depending on the job.

It is difficult or impossible to reduce overtime because everything should be done at the same time and preferably yesterday. There is also no emphasis on adequate substitutes and building them up.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Decisions are not comprehensible, which could be due to a lack of transparency. Buzzword culture (I just made it up) and comments on analytical procedures such as "this is not a doctoral thesis", "you don't need to know the requirements" or "don't overengineer" are daily phrases that employees who want to perform do not want to hear. Last minute approaches with expectation of getting everything done does not cope with missing prioritisation.

Interessante Aufgaben

Tasks are very interesting especially for aviation enthusiasts. At the same time you will not be able to handle the workload since the tasks are unequally divided.

Can fully agree to this point in my team.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Older colleagues are noticed in their own teams, but are only appreciated by younger colleagues if they really perform. Otherwise, there is a discrepancy between the expectations of older colleagues and younger colleagues. Subjective: Compared to younger colleagues, older colleagues have to perform less, are less resilient, have higher salaries, poorer qualifications but more seniority. This has grown historically and no countermeasures are being taken to close this gap.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Offices are a catastrophy at the moment. As far as you are willing to work in the office make sure to carry your own docking station, mouse, keyboard and monitors since the offices are currently poorly equipped. To get equipped for home office can take up to 1 year if you don't want to buy everything you need by yourself.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Not sure since not transparently communicated which initiatives tui infotec ist taking. Communication for tui ag is more transparent.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Adequate and in line with the industry average.

More older colleagues speak positively about the company. Otherwise, the company still has a lot to do in terms of employer branding and corporate identity.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

Udemy licenses available which is great. Other than that customised trainings for teams, technology, project management and soft skills are not provided and have to be covered by each individual privately.
