I really thought about it but there is nothing.
Everything mentioned above. If you are desperate to find a job, please consider even the lowest job you would be willing to accept before deciding to work here.
- Respect your employees.
- Hire people who know how to do their jobs instead of outsourcing everything just to save on labour costs.
- Put some heart into education if you want to run an educational institution.
The atmosphere within the team is okay, if you're lucky enough to be part of a decent team. That's only because everyone knows that all the employees are struggling, so out of basic human consideration, we try not to put too much pressure on one another and just take things easy.
But apart from that, everyone is constantly complaining, and the negativity is difficult to deal with, especially since it's an everyday occurrence. You come to work and immediately feel demotivated.
If you check their website and google reviews, things look really positive, but in fact everything is rotten.
It depends on your manager and your position, but in general, it's bad. The negativity follows you home, and even when you're at home, you can't stop thinking about how bad things are at work.
There is no such thing here.
As mentioned, lower salary you can't imagine. And there is simply no hope to have salary raise.
This place has not reached that level.
You can be very honest with your team or your line manager because, no matter what you say, whether it's a complaint, a suggestion, or an idea for improvement, nothing ever comes of it. I'm not saying this out of nowhere. When we first started our jobs, we were passionate and motivated to make a difference. And what has come out of all that effort? Nothing.
As mentioned, with team members, it is fine.
The higher management doesn't care about their employees at all.
Overcrowded office with very limited space available. Not even a place to eat your lunch.
The biggest catastrophe I have ever seen in my life. I don't understand how people can communicate with one another like this. It's incredible. Maybe because most of the employees are doing the bare minimun, they don't bother to say a complete senetence in their email.
They replaced many on-site employees with remote teams based in India and the Philippines, and the communication with these teams is simply unbelievably hard.
On top of that, many of the remote employees have never even been to Germany and have very little understanding of the German education system, yet they are expected to communicate with students and provide them with guidance. You can imagine how problematic this can be.
The salaries are unbelievably low. The immigration office reject almost all international employees' work visa applications because their salaries are too low. When you compare the workload and the amount of pressure you face in this job with the salary you receive, it makes you feel completely undervalued and disrespected.
Depends on your position as well. If you are in the administrative departments, there is almost nothing interesting. Only administrative tasks, solving one problem after another.
The colleagues in the services teams are great. Some professors are also great.
For what regards salary, consideration, and respect, the gap between leadership, directors and management on one side, and the administrative employees on the other is huge. Salaries for us normal people are low, very low; contracts get renewed on a monthly basis, or do not get renewed at all.
Replace the whole leadership team and change owner company.
The working atmosphere within one own`s team is great. The problems start when you need to work with upper managers and leadership team, as a) they do not recognize the work and effort that us basic employees put in everday operations, b) they take all the merit for success.
Everyone just works the bare minimum, as the salaries are very low, and no incentive scheme is present for administrative staff. That exaplains good work-life balance.
Business Developers travel around the world in Business Class or First Class the same amount of time they drink water, but somehow the sales targets are not even met.
Oh, the leadership gets to have access to opportunities. All other employees cannot access any form of education, even though it is a university and continuing education should be a given.
Depends on who your manager is. Sometimes you will never get the chance to ask for better conditions.
No standing desks are provided. Only leadership, directors and managers get licenses for AI Softwares, all other employees do not get any, and, at the request of hiring someone else in the team to support the insame amount of workload, you are told that you should create an agent with the free version of the software.
The owner company cares to communicate only certain news to certain people, purposely leaving some departments out. Communication about new employees joining depends on status: if a new director or new manager joins, this gets communciated, but if a new normal employee joins, no one will ever know.
Salary is incredibly low, at times too low for keeping your visa. But directors and managers make a lot of money.
Benefits? Are there really some?
Most managers are men.... leadership is mostly white men....
Motto sollte eher sein Work Life Blending.
Freie Meinungsäußerung wenn man neue Aufgaben übernehmen will
They give you one year term contracts. Everyone hates them and it's absolutely not usual in Germany. If you *need* a job and UE/GUS is the only one, then take it, do your one year and then just don't accept the next one. Because then you still get unemployment benefits because they didn't fire you, it was a term contract all along. The Management thinks they are smart with their term contracts as they are from the UK not used to having Works Councils/Betriebsräte, but they for sure don't have a clue on German laws and customs.
HR and specifically the HR Director. But if you complain about something taking 2-3 months (new contract, payslips, confirmations, basically anything), the HR Director always just comes in person to Top Management and uses his verbal skills into thinking that everything was done correct by HR and the person actually did something wrong. And because Top Management usually can't read German and doesn't know German labour customs they just believe him. I actually feel sorry especially for the COO as she really tries.
- Listen to your low level employees.
- You claim to have an open door-policy. Sorry but no, you don't.
- Your CEO and HR Director are anti-LGBTQ. Even if you openly say 'you don't have anything against homosexuals.', your behaviour, the things you say and the words you use clearly out you as anti-LGBTQ. *You* should do a training on diversity btw also on Management, not your Middle Management.
- The COO is nice but she is bestie with a specific Campus Director and everyone knows that. There have been multiple complaints against that specific Campus Director but she doesn't do anything as the woman is one of her close friends. The COO just listens to her bestie but doesn't even talk to the victims. And HR and the Chancellor are complicit because they know that this specific Campus Director has a problem but they know that the COO favours her, so they are too afraid to tell the COO of her favorism. You want to be objective or at least see all the sides? Stop having bestie-calls with that Campus Director and really investigate in the situation!
- As mentioned the COO is nice, but she gets lied to from so many Middle Managers. It's unbelievable. The Middle Managers lie to keep their asses covered and then even get promoted.
If you could be at 2 places the same time, none would be there.
Oh, Top Management thinks the image is good.
Varies.
Nothing done there.
The team colleagues are the only good thing here.
Really depends on who your supervisor is. You can get good ones or bad ones. But the CEO is using top-down for everything, doesn't listen to everyone middle management and below.
You love the German labour laws? Well, it doesn't really happen here because nearly the whole Top Management cannot speak German and just goes from the founder's main country UK.
Happy if someone tells you anything. The CEO or his assistants leave out vital departments as they don't think of the whole process something will impact.
Diversity at low level employees is massive and we are good with it. But Middle and Top Management it's not existent. LGBTQ exists but most are too afraid to out themselves as the CEO and the HR Director often say bad things about it.
Depends on what you get.
CEO wechseln, realistischer denken, weniger TikTok Werbung
The diversity was great!
HR and the owners of the company do not care about complaints relating to mobbing, or discrimination. Various complaints were submitted against a particular person and nothing was done. There is only one HR for UE and other GUS companies and you can tell they are overworked with the high turnover of employees. Additionally, they promise students things that don't exist so the students come to the workers and the workers are the ones having to deal with the angry customers. This company only cares about profit not their students nor their employees.
-Better Salaries
-Better HR
-Add benefits so staff will stay
-Stop with cheap labor
Everyone received the same salary no matter the experience or education level, there was no room for growth in salary. There were staff working more than 2 years and still had the same salary with no benefits nor bonuses
There was absolutely no cultural sensitivity, and was forbidden to talk to certain staff by management
The management is very unprofessional, and disrespectful
You had to keep asking for basic office supplies and received older laptops that ran on old systems
You could tell who was the favorite employee because they got less work
As a student advisor you are really not growing professionally
So verdient kununu Geld.
