Extremely unprofessional recruitment process

My experience with this company was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
During the recruitment process, I received a clear verbal confirmation that I had been selected for the position. I was also asked to actively look for accommodation and move closer to the workplace as soon as possible. Based on the communication I received, I had every reason to believe that the hiring decision was final.
Only three days later, I received an email from the owner's wife informing me that the employee involved in my recruitment had left the company and that, following a restructuring of the marketing department, the company suddenly had no further personnel requirement.
So after verbally confirming a candidate and encouraging them to make relocation and accommodation arrangements, the company simply withdrew the position three days later.
This is an extremely poor way to handle a recruitment process. A candidate's time, trust, career plans, financial situation and personal circumstances are not something a company should treat so casually.
As an international candidate in Germany, the consequences could have been particularly serious. Had I already resigned from my current job, signed a rental contract, relocated or made decisions affecting my residence status based on the company's confirmation, I could have been placed in an extremely difficult and potentially irreversible situation.
The fact that the departure of one employee could apparently result in the complete withdrawal of a hiring decision that had already been communicated to a candidate raises serious questions about the company's internal decision-making and stability.
I invested considerable time and effort into this recruitment process and acted in good faith based on what I was told. The way this ended has left me with a very negative impression of the company's professionalism and reliability.
For me, it was a serious failure in how a potential employee was treated throughout the recruitment process.

Der Inhaber mag vielleicht ein Geschäftsmann sein. Jedoch hat dies nichts mit Chef sein zutun, in den letzten zwei Jahren knapp an die 20 Mitarbeiter die Firma verlassen.
