Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- You will get a lot of feedbacks and learn to work in a very structured way.
- You can have your voice heard and take part in very important projects.
- You can work with many different teams and learn from them, this is a very good way to see how a Fintech works. Thanks to the weekly meetings you also have a precise idea of what they are working on and this is nice to feel part of a project.
- People are always there to help you if you struggle.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

- Working with the French central teams can sometimes be difficult, your objectives are not the same and they will often turn you down. It is even more frustrating since it happens most of the time extremely late in the process and can make weeks of work useless.
- Working on cross-teams projects needs to involve a lot of people that can be busy, hence your tasks will often grind to a halt while waiting for someone’s inputs.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

- I sometime felt that the team was a bit oversized since we often need to wait for others inputs or comments. Having a slightly less important Corporate Startegy team could solve it.
- When it comes to topic directly linked to Corporate Strategy having tasks updates more often and shoter could maybe be more interesting.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The working atmosphere is very great. People are happy to be part of the company and make you feel it. You have everything you need to succeed in your tasks.

Kommunikation

Every week a meeting is held to communicate the group results and the ExCo decisions. The next objectives for the German unit are also discussed and detailed to everybody. In addition, the French strategy team is sending a recap email every week to update everybody about the group progress.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

- The team is so great! They are all so nice and will welcome you in the best way possible.
- You can always count on them if you need help, or if there is something you don't get clear.
- In reverse, you will have plenty of opportunities to help them with your own skills.
- Team lunches and parties are always very funny, you will enjoy them a lot.

Work-Life-Balance

The work-life-balance is completely respected. If for any reason you need to leave earlier, it is accepted. As long as your job is done properly there are no issue on this.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

- Both at the group level and at the German level, they are people with a lot of great ideas, a lot of ambition and a lot of energy towards success.
- Your boss is really aiming at making you progress. His feedbacks are very precious, and you can expect to learn a lot.
- Sometimes the goal of your task is not very precise from scratch and part of your work will turn useless after some days working on it.

Interessante Aufgaben

- Younited is a super-fast-growing start-up. There are new different tasks every week, hence the work never gets repetitive.
- You can work on product or data-related projects as well as on the design of new teams in the branch. The scope is VERY broad.
- Most of the time your tasks will be cross subject which is a great opportunity to discover different jobs.
- Depending on your centers of interests your tasks are likely to evolve to what you prefer.
- You will always have a voice, you can tackle some ideas and discuss those you are doubting.
- You can sometime feel that your team is oversized regarding your tasks (but you can actually turn it into the opportunity to dig further in topics you are interested in)

Gleichberechtigung

I haven't seen different behavior depending on whether it was a woman or a man working. The workforce was approximately 50/50 until I left. It is probably a little more masculine know regarding the recent hiring posted on LinkedIn.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

There is no point there since nearly everybody working here is under 30.

Arbeitsbedingungen

- The office is wonderful, very beautifully decorated and such a nice place to be.
- Free drinks are available
- Desks are quite big and computers and screens are the best possible.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

- Climate change and environment protection are not considered at all. Everybody has its own trashcan and there is no recycling in the office. The German branch is lagging behind comparing to its French counterpart.
- The social responsability is considered since client solvability is studied and they try to promote a credit which is better for the client than many others. Still consumer loan is not a social business...

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

- My wage as an intern was very competitive.
- I had 2 days of holidays per month worked
- From what I understood there was more and more perks coming for the employees. The HR plan is being built.

Image

- People working at YC Germany are very proud of it and talk about it in a very positive way.
- The brand image is not completely settled since the branch was launched in November 2019.
- The company promotes the image of a Fintech that acts to bring transparency in the lending business and I think it does.
- However, the company tends to describe itself in a more positive way than it is. No matter how much you try to provide some "responsible consumer loans", the lending business is not a nice one and your clients will always be people in need of money.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

- As already mentionned your tasks can evolve towards what you like the most.
- A lot of things are still being built and you can expect some responsabilities if you work well.
- As an intern or a working student you can expect a job offer in the end. It is really the moment to join since it is still the building of the team.
