Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Controls

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Controls at Roche, you will provide technical support for automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot equipment, lead process improvement projects, and ensure the validated state of production processes is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods and processes.
• Improve automation and electromechanical processes through research, testing, and operator feedback.
• Coordinate with design and process development engineering for new product releases.
• Manage multiple projects, estimate manufacturing costs, and recommend tooling and control system hardware/software.
• Ensure process changes follow validation policies and maintain system quality.
• Provide off-shift or weekend support as part of an on-call rotation.
• Support key initiatives including information management, cyber security, and life cycle management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of experience, or Master’s/PhD with 2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial control systems, including PLCs (Allen Bradley), HMIs (FactoryTalk), motion controls, vision inspection, and sensors.
• Ability to modify control system programs and electrical systems.
• Experience executing equipment qualification requirements and documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Preferred: Experience with GMP in a regulated environment, high-volume manufacturing, and process improvement methodologies like LSS or PDCA.
