Controls Engineer
As a Controls Engineer at Roche Near Patient Care, you will serve as the technical backbone for automated production lines at our Indianapolis manufacturing site. You will be responsible for optimizing electromechanical processes, launching new technology, and maintaining the control systems of high-speed manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Optimize automation and electromechanical processes to improve speed, reliability, and efficiency.
- Partner with R&D to bridge the gap between design and high-volume manufacturing.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and motion control systems.
- Lead equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage project lifecycles, mentor junior staff, and provide technical support for 24/7 operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000) and FactoryTalk View.
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including servos, VFDs, Distributed I/O, and vision systems.
- Proven ability to execute equipment qualification protocols and technical documentation.
- Experience in vendor management and a logical approach to complex problem-solving.
- Preferred: Experience with GMP in a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment and knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
