Data Scientist - Applied AI

Join our Partnering Digital Solutions team at Roche, a strategic group focused on maximizing partnership impact through digital and AI-enabled ecosystems. We are looking for a Data Scientist to play a critical role in shaping and delivering AI and machine learning capabilities to improve visibility, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across our global Partnering organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and AI-enabled solutions for opportunity prioritization, portfolio intelligence, and forecasting.
• Lead exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model selection, training, and performance evaluation.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate complex challenges into analytical approaches and scalable intelligence capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to operationalize AI solutions in production environments, ensuring scalability and monitoring.
• Communicate analytical findings and AI-driven insights through clear visualizations and storytelling for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work in a cross-functional Agile environment to continuously improve AI practices and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, applied AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, and NumPy.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and analysis of large datasets.
• Experience building predictive, classification, recommendation, or forecasting models.
• Familiarity with cloud-native AI platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
