Senior AI/ML Data Scientist

The Senior AI/ML Data Scientist within the Digital Endpoints and Patient-Centered Solutions (DEPCS) team is responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-based solutions to enhance clinical trials and accelerate data-driven decision-making in drug development. This role involves collaborating across clinical, data science, and engineering teams to develop multimodal AI solutions, focusing on sensor time-series and causal inference.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sensor time-series, biological, and clinical data to support clinical development decisions.
• Transform raw sensor data into interpretable digital measures through signal processing and feature engineering.
• Design and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and Causal ML methodologies for clinical trial data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical scientists, biostatisticians, and digital business leads to integrate models into Roche platforms.
• Present technical insights to diverse audiences and contribute to scientific publications and internal knowledge development.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in machine learning, signal processing, or AI within biomedical or healthcare settings.
• Expertise in sensor data analysis, causal inference, machine learning, and probabilistic modeling.
• Proficiency in scientific programming (Python), MLOps frameworks, and high-performance computing.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with regulated software development, psychometric properties, and reproducible research principles is highly valued.
