The Position
The Pharma Technical Characterization Cell and Genetherapy (PTCG) department is responsible for the technical development of in vivo gene therapeutics during preclinical and clinical development phases. The Gene Therapy Analytics function focuses on analytical characterization, quality control, and the implementation of novel analytical technologies from preclinical studies through to market launch.
Responsibilities
- Scouting, evaluation, development, and implementation of automated E2E solutions for the characterization of viral vectors (rAAV) and plasmids.
- Acting as the central point of contact for gene therapy portfolio projects, representing analytical development and quality control in Technical Development Teams.
- Advancing technologies for quantification and functional characterization within an interdisciplinary team.
- Independent execution of experiments, method development, equipment qualification, and test validation under GMP requirements.
- Contributing to the development and definition of control and testing strategies for gene therapy vector products.
- Data management, including interpretation, evaluation, documentation, and creation of analysis reports according to regulatory standards.
Requirements
- PhD in Biology, molecular biology, or a related life science discipline with over 3 years of practical experience with liquid handling systems for analytical applications.
- Understanding of databases and data flows, with foundational knowledge in SQL, VBA, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Proven track record and expertise in the characterization of viral vectors (AAV, Lentiviruses, etc.) using analytical methods.
- Expert knowledge in the field of plasmids and gene therapy modalities.
- Knowledge and experience with GMP principles, including data integrity, equipment qualification, and test validation.
- High level of self-motivation, responsibility, result-orientation, and teamwork.
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
