ArbeitsatmosphäreAngestellte/r oder Arbeiter/in

The overall work atmosphere has deteriorated significantly in recent months. Due to ongoing staff reductions, there is a growing sense of uncertainty and frustration among employees. Whoever you ask, motivation is absent.

Many of the high-performing and experienced employees are leaving the company. However, their responsibilities and workload are not decreasing. Instead, the remaining employees are expected to take on additional tasks, which further increases the pressure and negatively affects morale.

What is particularly difficult to understand is that while employees are being let go as part of the staff reductions, a large number of employees are being promoted at the same time. This creates a strong perception of inconsistency and makes it difficult for employees to understand the company’s priorities and decision-making.

Overall, the current situation has created an environment where motivation is declining, workload is increasing, and confidence in the company’s future is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.

Despite the challenges within the company, the colleagues themselves are very supportive and maintain a strong sense of teamwork. People are willing to help each other, share knowledge, and stand together, especially during difficult times.

Work-Life-BalanceAngestellte/r oder Arbeiter/in

he work-life balance has taken a significant step backwards since the mandatory return-to-office policy was introduced last year. What makes this particularly impressive is that many employees were hired from all over Germany with completely different expectations regarding remote and flexible working. Apparently, those promises came with an expiration date.
The company emphasizes that it wants to make “data-driven decisions.” If this is what “data-driven” looks like, it would certainly be interesting to see the data. To this day, nobody has been able to explain which data actually shows that employees should spend countless hours commuting every week, only to sit alone in the office and have meetings with colleagues via Teams who are sitting somewhere else.
Overall, the policy has significantly reduced flexibility, increased commuting time and stress, and made the work-life balance considerably worse.

Direct leaders behavior is disappointing. Power is often used in an overly controlling and sometimes abusive way. Promises are made but rarely followed through, while employee development and genuine support seem to be lacking. Promotions often appear to depend more on personal relationships and the “Nasenfaktor” than on performance or qualifications.

Die Atmosphäre ist selbstverständlich in jeder Abteilung unterschiedlich. Für mich war sie immer gut, auch wenn der Stellenabbau die Stimmung natürlich deutlich gedrückt hat.
