Some colleagues are cool and it's easy to get along with them
I often get the feeling that employees are not fully trusted. This is e.g showed in the top management's apparent assumption that people are less productive when working from home, despite numerous studies suggesting otherwise. In my opinion, allowing more flexibility in the work-from-home policy would actually encourage employees to come into the office more willingly. Additionally, any decisions are often made without being communicated clearly to the wider team, leaving employees feeling out of the loop. Opportunities for professional development and genuine career progression seem to be available only to a select few employees
The company should offer more flexibility in its WFO policy. Allowing employees to work from home on any day except Monday and Friday feels unnecessarily restrictive and suggests a lack of trust in employees. Additionally, leadership should work on reducing micromanagement, which is quite noticeable throughout the company and learn how to lead people properly. As also mentioned in the previous reviews, decisions regarding personnel changes should be communicated more transparently so that employees do not have to worry about suddenly losing their favourite colleagues without any explanation.
Employees who take on significant responsibilities, show strong performance, and contribute substantially to the company should be rewarded accordingly, whether through promotions or better compensation. Otherwise, there will be little incentive to go above and beyond in the long run. The coffee machine should be cleaned regularly. I have never seen it being cleaned, and at this point, I am genuinely uncomfortable drinking the coffee, especially since colleagues have told me that the previous coffee machine had become completely mouldy
From the outside, the company might have a rather positive image due to its focus on sustainability. However, I get the impression that the internal chaos is becoming increasingly visible to the outside as well
I understand that work-life balance can be challenging in a start-up environment but for me I feels like staying late is expected by the top management, as if employees are supposed to dedicate their lives to the company. Official working hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, but in practice, this seems to exist only on paper. Employees who stay longer are praised, while those who leave on time or earlier are met with disapproval. This creates an unhealthy culture in which working overtime is implicitly encouraged and maintaining a healthy work-life balance ofter feels difficult
There are no training opportunities, which might be normal for a start-up of this size. I also don't see any real career growth opportunities. When a higher position becomes available, the company doesn't promote employees who have performed well and earned the opportunity. Instead, they hire someone from outside. This makes me wonder how employees are supposed to stay motivated and feel that their hard work is valued
There is a benefit that allows employees to choose a voucher of their choice every month, which is quite nice. You can also order food in the evening after a certain time. Other than that, there are no additional benefits
The company is environmentally conscious in terms of its core business, and presentations on environmental topics are occasionally held internally. I do not get the same impression when it comes to social responsibility and awareness within the company itself
I feel that there is a strong sense of team spirit within individual teams but I get a different impression when it comes to collaboration between teams. Each team has its own priorities and areas of focus, which often leads to clashes and makes cross-team collaboration more challenging
There are one or two older colleagues and I have the impression they are treated well. I have not noticed any discrimination or significant hierarchies within the company
There is a strong top-down management approach but I get the impression that leadership and management within individual teams work quite well
Everyone works in a large, rather dark open-plan office with limited natural light, and the office is often cold. We use ThinkPads, some of which are extremely slow. The open-plan layout can also become quite noisy, particularly when I hear the sales team plus other colleagues talking, making it difficult to concentrate at times
I often get the impression that only positive achievements and successes are communicated, while difficulties and challenges are swept under the rug or not mentioned at all. This seems to be particularly true of the leadership. Employees also sometimes suddenly disappear without any prior communication because they have been let go. You only find out when you walk past their desks and notice that their workspace is suddenly empty. The reasons behind that are rarely communicated, avoiding to letting us know what happened. This lack of transparency creates insecurity among employees, making it difficult not to wonder whether you could be the next person to lose your job
There is still a lot of operational work to be done, as the company is not yet where it should be. However, there are always opportunities to take on new responsibilities
Wer Homeoffice will "nicht richtig " arbeiten.
