Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

The colleagues and the cafe across the street from the office are great. They're now offering remote work which is nice.
- Another good thing is that I'm glad they finally have a strong woman in HR to hopefully stop the bad behavior from management and put the correct processes in place. Too bad it's too late for a lot of people.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Inappropriate behavior from some upper-level men, HR doesn't have your back, burnouts, over time, racism, bad communication of company vision and goals, finger-pointing and blaming....... and and and.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

- Please stop using the direct feedback culture as an excuse to treat people badly. Your employees are people with emotions and not robots - the sooner you learn that and respect them, the more willing they will be to do good work for you because they want to and not because they're scared to get fired or scared of getting in trouble.
- Try offering more social benefits to motivate employees (kicker doesn't cut it anymore)
- "HR" should start looking out for the employees and have their backs and not only be "loyal" (in her words) to the co-founders
- Management should communicate the vision and goals more often and clearly and stand by your decisions - it will make everyone else more confident in you instead of doubt your abilities, after all, you know the company best. If you can't do that, let other people step in and do it for you, otherwise the company will fail.
- Be more attentive to your employees - you never know what someone is going through whether it be in or outside of work.
- Stop covering up bad reviews, just accept the criticism and try to fix it.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Welcoming and friendly on the outside - immature and surface-level on the inside.

Kommunikation

-No communication between the departments
-Departments gossip about each other and can't seem to solve things as a team
- Finger pointing and blaming seems to be normal and described as "direct" and "open" communication. Don't fall for it.
- Meetings almost always go over time and most of them happen without agendas

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Maybe the only good thing about this company is that everyone within their respective teams seem to be very close.

Work-Life-Balance

Management is always working on weekends and if they call you on your vacation or while you're sick, they expect you to answer. I know many people who were called into meetings on their vacation and CHRISTMAS. I know at least 4 people that had a burnout and had to take some serious time off to get a mental break.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

- Inappropriate behavior from upper-level people won't be taken seriously and if you talk to "HR" they will tell you to confront the inappropriate ones and tell them to stop or tell you, "we've told them so many times to stop talking to the female colleagues inappropriately but they just won't stop."
- When confronted with a complaint about his harsh communication style, he responded, "I'm _______ (an upper-management person), I'll say whatever I want."
- Please do not let yourself be mistreated because they have a "direct and open" feedback culture. If your gut is telling you their behavior is wrong (and it usually is), tell someone.
- Management can't decide on goals or a vision for the company and therefore get upset when people don't reach these invisible goals.
- "Why aren't you turning on your camera? You're not wearing anything?"
