Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

This company has been laying people off every location for years, it’s hard to see colleagues leave every few months and then one day it’s yourself.
Conde Nast Germany employs some English speaking people but every bit of communication is in German, which is very isolating.
They track and use against people if they adhere to the return of office rules (4 days everywhere, 3 days in Germany).
HR in general is highly disorganised and they get quite agressive if you let them know what you really think.
The whole company tries to scare people off, there is a real reign of fear and people afraid of speaking up.
I’ve worked there for years and was let go from one day to another, along with many colleagues. Everyone had to fight to get a decent deal and the paperwork they were entitled to (stuck in nonsense processes, mistakes, etc).
It’s a grim place to work at.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective.

We understand that organisational changes and the closure of business units are deeply impactful for the people affected. In this specific case, the decision referenced was part of a broader global structural adjustment and was not a local decision taken by Condé Nast Germany.

Such transformations are never easy. We are aware of the emotional weight they carry and we treat them with the seriousness and respect they deserve. Our HR and leadership teams work within clearly defined legal frameworks and processes to support affected colleagues professionally and responsibly during transition phases.

We cannot confirm the characterisation of a “reign of fear” or intentional intimidation. Our organisation encourages open dialogue, and we maintain formal and informal channels for feedback and concerns.

Regarding language and communication: as an international company with local markets, we operate in both global and local contexts. We continuously evaluate how to ensure inclusion across different language backgrounds while also meeting local operational requirements.

Return-to-office policies are implemented transparently and consistently across markets in alignment with global guidelines.

We regret that your personal experience was a negative one. At the same time, many colleagues continue to build long-term careers with us across different markets, functions and generations.

We wish you all the best for your future.
