Gap between stated values and day-to-day practice

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
-As also mentioned in other reviews, there is a strong hierarchical structure, despite the company presenting itself externally as “flat” or non-hierarchical. In practice, hierarchy plays a significant role, and employees are often expected to align with existing views rather than actively contribute their own opinions. In particular, expressing professional or critical perspectives does not always feel encouraged.
-There is a lack of transparency in several areas. Communication is often not open and tends to happen in a reactive, “damage control” manner rather than through proactive and structured information sharing.
-Overall, the culture does not strongly promote appreciation or recognition of employees’ contributions. Expertise and independent thinking are not always actively encouraged, and there is limited space for critical discussion or alternative perspectives. These make the entire atmosphere demotivating and do not provide growth opportunities.
-Salary levels are low, and combined with limited transparency and a strong hierarchical structure, this can lead to a less motivating working environment.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
-Foster truly open, transparent, and continuous communication: not only in isolated cases or reactively after issues arise.
-Establish a genuine and consistent feedback culture that enables regular, constructive feedback rather than limiting it to annual performance reviews.
-Use performance reviews primarily as a development tool, rather than mainly as a mechanism tied to salary adjustments. and have it yearly in a very long and not encouraging way
-If a “flat” or “non-hierarchical” culture is communicated, it should also be reflected in practice: expertise and diverse opinions should be actively encouraged and meaningfully considered.
-Create space for constructive discussion in meetings, instead of environments where alignment with decisions from higher levels is implicitly expected.
-Recognize and reward performance, commitment, and good work more actively through incentives, motivation, and meaningful appreciation.
-Overall, consistently build a respectful, open, and appreciative working culture:not just communicate it.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
In my experience, the work atmosphere is negatively affected by a lack of feedback culture, particularly in conversations. I did not have the impression that critical thinking or expressing one’s opinions is encouraged.
Additionally, I found the company and its processes to lack transparency. As a result, I did not feel that decisions were based on trust, nor did the overall environment seem fair.
Kommunikation
In my experience, a lack of effective communication is a significant issue. Communication often felt inefficient and reactive, rather than proactive, with many situations handled in a damage-control manner instead of being addressed early on.(as other reviews suggest that as well)
Important information was not always shared transparently or in a timely way, which made it difficult to work efficiently and align expectations.
Overall, I experienced communication as inconsistent and not sufficiently structured to support a smooth and collaborative working environment.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The company consists of many young colleagues who are generally pleasant and easy to interact with. However, in my experience, deeper exchange is limited. Critical thinking, as well as expressing and discussing differing opinions, does not seem to be actively encourage
As a result, interactions often remain on a rather superficial level, which makes it difficult to build a strong and collaborative team dynamic.
Work-Life-Balance
flexible working hours and place
Vorgesetztenverhalten
In my experience, supervisor behaviour is strongly affected by the overall lack of communication and feedback culture. There is little encouragement for open dialogue, and sharing opinions does not appear to be actively supported.
As mentioned previously, transparency is also lacking, and interactions tend to be more reactive than supportive or forward-looking.
As a result, I did not experience a constructive feedback environment or meaningful guidance from supervisors, which makes it difficult to evaluate this category positively.
Regarding hierarchy (as also noted in other reviews), while the company presents itself as having a flat structure (e.g., informal communication such as using first names and “du”), this does not seem to be reflected in actual decision-making processes. In practice, hierarchical structures are still clearly present.

Gleichberechtigung
In my experience, equality within the company is mixed and seems to depend strongly on the individual. Some colleagues act in a professional and fair manner, while others appear more influenced by factors such as gender, position, age or hierarchy.
Overall, hierarchical thinking still seems to play a noticeable role in the company culture, which can affect how people are treated and how inclusive the environment feels.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The office environment is modern and generally well-equipped. Upon request, employees can receive the necessary equipment for both office and home office setups.
However, in my experience, the internet connection is unreliable, which can affect day-to-day work.
Gehalt/Benefits
In my experience, the salary structure is not competitive. While there is a stated salary band, I had the impression that compensation is typically set at the lowest end of that range.
Rather than fostering a culture of appreciation, respect, and incentives for performance or experience, I felt that salary discussions sometimes involved downplaying qualifications or experience. At times, factors such as age or level of experience seemed to be used to justify lower compensation.
Overall, this did not create an encouraging or motivating atmosphere.
