Strong Team, but Narrow Leadership and Declining Structures
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
I noticed that some earlier reviews no longer seem to be visible, so I would encourage applicants to also speak with former colleagues to gain a broader impression. The people I worked with were genuinely kind and supportive, which was one of the strongest aspects of my experience.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
In my view, too much emphasis was placed on internal processes and individual sensitivities, while core innovation and product priorities at times received less attention. This occasionally made it harder to maintain the momentum needed for long-term competitiveness.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Recognize that the expertise lies within the employees and strengthen trust in their capabilities.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Despite the remote-work setup, I often experienced a high level of expected availability, with limited flexibility in managing working hours. Combined with occasional challenges in having consistently reliable equipment at home, this sometimes made the overall working conditions demanding.
Image
In the current Forrester Wave, the company could not maintain its former Leader position and is now rated as a Strong Performer. In my view, with the earlier and more complete team, that level of potential would likely have been achievable again.
Work-Life-Balance
The overall work-life balance felt challenging to me. With the team becoming smaller over time, rising internal demands, international meetings at varying hours and the absence of formal time tracking, I often experienced limited flexibility in managing my schedule. Deadlines frequently felt very ambitious, and I had the impression that being reachable was generally expected. For me, this made it difficult to balance professional and personal commitments. These are solely my personal impressions.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There is a defined training budget, but in my experience it was rarely used, as approvals tended to be extensive and often difficult to obtain. The overall workload was so intense that most colleagues, myself included, had limited time or energy to pursue additional training.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The team cohesion was strong, as I have often seen in more tightly managed organizations.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
In my experience, decision-making was highly centralized, with many key and everyday decisions made directly by the owner. The leadership style often appeared impulsive and somewhat unpredictable to me.
Kommunikation
Many day-to-day decisions seemed highly centralized and dependent on the owner.
Gehalt/Benefits
I experienced the compensation development as not always transparent or aligned with rising expectations or inflation. Clear and consistent criteria for salary adjustments were something I personally missed.
